Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Uttarakhand on Thursday, April 11. He said that terrorists are suffering severe home attacks as a result of “this strong Modi government” at the federal level.

“Our enemies have taken advantage of each weak government we have had in the nation. Atankwaadiyon ko ghar mein ghus ke mara jata hai (our forces are murdering terrorists on their turf) under this powerful government,” Modi declared during a public gathering in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Amid a contentious political dispute in 2019 on the airstrikes carried out by the Indian Air Force against Pakistan, Modi had attacked the Opposition for calling the action taken to avenge the Pulwana assault an electoral ploy. Get real-time updates about the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

They claim that the purpose of the airstrike was to win elections. When we conducted surgical strikes, where were the elections? In Ahmedabad, Modi had declared, “Humara siddhant hai, hum ghar me ghus ke marenge (It is our principle to take the attack home).”

Sharing the plight of soldiers during the Congress regime, Modi said, “Under the Congress, soldiers lacked basic protective gear such as bulletproof jackets, leaving them vulnerable to enemy bullets. It’s the BJP that prioritized their safety, providing Indian-made bulletproof jackets. Today, thanks to the BJP, India manufactures modern rifles, fighter planes, and aircraft carriers domestically. Unlike the weak Congress government, BJP has developed modern infrastructure along the borders, including roads and tunnels, ensuring security and progress.”

Despite its small size, Uttarakhand consistently ranks among the top 5 states in producing officers for the Indian Army each year. The state is home to two regiments of the Indian Army – the Garhwal Rifles and the Kumaon Rifles.

Referring to New Delhi’s assertive approach to combat cross-border terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently stated during a TV interview that if terrorists attempt to disturb peace in India or carry out terror activities, a suitable response will be given and if they flee to Pakistan, India will enter the neighboring country to kill them.

The defense minister was responding to a question on a report by the British newspaper “The Guardian” that claimed Indian intelligence agencies carried out assassinations of terrorists in Pakistan as part of an emboldened approach to national security after 2019.

“If terrorists from the neighboring country try to disturb the peace in Bharat or try to carry out terror activities in Bharat, we will give them a befitting reply.

Koi bhi terrorist hamare parosi desh se yadi hamare Bharat ko disturb karneki koshish karega, yahan par yadi atankbadi harkate karega, toh uska muh tod jabab denge),”

“If they run away to Pakistan, we will enter Pakistan to kill them (Yadi woh bhag kar Pakistan mein jayega, toh Pakistan mein ghus kar marenge),” he said.

PM Modi on road, and rail connectivity in Uttarakhand

Lauding his government for better infrastructure in Uttarakhand, Modi said, “We are continuously increasing rail, road and air connectivity in the state. Work is underway on the Rishikesh -Karanprayag railway line. Distance between Delhi and Dehradun is also reducing. Border villages, which were called ‘last villages’ under the Congress, are now being developed under the BJP government. Air services have started for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. A 900-km-long highway is also being built to connect Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath.”

Addressing the crowd, the PM shared, “Yesterday I was in Tamil Nadu, situated on the ocean coast, at the southern end of India. There also people are saying –Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar! Today I am in the lap of the Himalayas, in the company of Baba Kedar and Badri Vishal. So here also the same echo – Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar!

Milestones under Modi govt

On the occasion, Modi also presented a glimpse of the milestones achieved by the BJP government over the past years that including the elimination of terrorists in their hideouts, the abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir after seven decades, and the enactment of laws against triple talaq, addressing long-standing social issues.

“Additionally, the BJP government ensured women’s representation by granting them reservation in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly, fostering inclusivity and gender equality in governance,” Modi said.

The PM also elaborated on the One Rank One Pension scheme and said, “It is Modi who has given more than ₹1 lakh crore to ex-servicemen by implementing OROP. Here in Uttarakhand too, military families have received more than ₹3.5 thousand crores.”

In Rishikesh, PM Narendra Modi reiterates his fight against terrorism with the phrase “ghar mein ghus kar.”

Lok Sabha Elections of 2024: PM Modi attacks the Congress and DMK for Katchatheevu and “Shakti” Statements!

Lok Sabha Elections of 2024: At an election rally in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared, “The DMK has the first copyright on corruption; the entire family is looting Tamil Nadu.”

With only ten days to go for polling for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, political parties are conducting several rallies across India to win votes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, said that family politics, corruption, and an anti-Tamil culture were the three major features of the ruling DMK party. The Dravidian party, he claimed, seemed to have a “copyright’’ to indulge in corruption in Tamil Nadu.

He was addressing a public meeting at the 16th-century granite Fort complex in Vellore town in support of NDA candidates A. C. Shanmugam (Vellore), A. Ashwathaman (Tiruvannamalai), K. Balu (Arakkonam), Ganesh Kumar (Arani), Sowmiya Anbumani (Dharmapuri) and C. Narasimhan (Krishnagiri) for the Lok Sabha polls.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Opposition alliance in Maharashtra, has finally sealed its seat-sharing deal for the Lok Sabha election on April 9. As part of the agreement, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest 21 seats, the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar) will contest 10 seats while the Congress will get 17 seats.

Meanwhile, the Congress announced the names of six Lok Sabha and 12 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh on April 9. According to the list released by the party, Pulusu Satyanarayana Reddy (Visakhapatnam) Vegi Venkatesh (Anakapalle), Lavanya Kavuri (Eluru), Garnepudi Alexander Sudhakar (Narasaraopet), Koppula Raju (Nellore) and Chinta Mohan (Tirupati) will contest the Lok Sabha polls.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) began its door-to-door drive under its “Jail ka Jawab Vote se” campaign on April 9 to garner support for arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Meanwhile, The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered the withdrawal of 50 companies (each company has around 100 personnel) of CAPFs, mainly drawn from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Border Security Force (BSF), from the violence-hit State. The two Lok Sabha seats in the violence-hit State will witness polling on April 19 and April 26.

Here are the live updates.

1. Northeast’s Transformation: The BJP president, J. P. Nadda, highlighted Northeast India’s outstanding development during the last ten years. Known for problems like movements and bandhs, the area has advanced significantly during the rule of Modi. The northeastern state’s Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are soon, and the BJP unveiled its platform, which emphasizes growth in several areas, including tourism, power, and governance.

2. Lok Sabha Poll Delay in Betul: Because of the unexpected passing of a BSP candidate, the Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabha election in the Betul constituency has been rescheduled until May 7. In certain situations, the election is postponed by electoral laws so that the party can propose a new candidate. By Section 52 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission declared the new poll date.

3. Manipur’s Unity and BJP’s Stand: The BJP’s candidate from Inner Manipur for the Lok Sabha elections, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, the state’s minister of law, highlighted the party’s commitment to a unified Manipur. Rejecting separatist impulses, he reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to safeguarding the state for coming generations. Singh rejected divisive agendas and emphasized the need for peace and unity in the area.

4. Congress Leader Joins BJP: In Rajasthan, Congress leader Sitaram Agarwal switched allegiance to the BJP, joining the party along with his supporters. Agarwal, who contested Jaipur’s Vidhyadhar Nagar seat in the previous assembly elections, made the move in the presence of BJP leaders. His decision reflects ongoing shifts in political affiliations ahead of the elections.

5. Athawale’s Electoral Plans: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale expressed his desire to contest the Shirdi Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. However, due to alliance constraints, his plans didn’t materialize. Athawale, a prominent Dalit leader, addressed the press in Nagpur, indicating his party workers’ support for him to continue with the ruling NDA and seek a cabinet berth at the Centre.

As India prepares for important elections, these occurrences highlight the country’s dynamic political environment, which reflects regional movements, problems, and aspirations. As the election progresses, check back for more updates.

BJP’s Candidate List and Allegations Against Assam CM

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has returned to the political scene with a new slate of nine candidates for the 2018 elections, amid a flurry of electoral tactics. Prominent individuals like Sanjay Tandon, who will represent Chandigarh, and S.S. Ahluwalia, who is prepared to fight in Asansol, West Bengal, are among these contestants.

But candidate lists aren’t the only thing in politics. Congress lawmaker Pradyut Bordoloi in Assam has interfered with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s campaign apparatus. Sarma is being accused of misleading voters with false promises and of breaking the model code of conduct. The Chief Election Commissioner received a complaint from Bordoloi that focused on Sarma’s purported promise to transfer ₹10,000 to each ration cardholder’s bank account after the election.

According to Bordoloi, these inducements not only violate moral principles but also threaten the credibility of the voting process.

DMK’s Purported Qualifications

It is a big allegation by the Prime Minister to say that the DMK is rooted in family politics, corruption, and anti-Tamil culture. For many, it highlights a story of disenchantment with the current political system, illustrating structural problems impeding the advancement of the state. Particularly in a state that is extremely proud of its linguistic and cultural legacy, the charge of an anti-Tamil culture has resonance.

Election Ideologies

At the opposite extreme of the political spectrum, Rahul Gandhi, the Congressman, simultaneously sparked an ideological discussion. His statements regarding the election as a conflict between unity and division cut to the core of political discourse. An already complicated election picture is further complicated by accusations and counter-accusations amongst political heavyweights.

Party Organisation

Amidst these intensely contested political stories, Congress workers from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, switched to the BJP, signifying a concrete display of shifting loyalty. Such actions highlight the fluidity of Indian politics and cast doubt on the ideological consistency of individual parties.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Sharad Pawar, has released its third slate of candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. The party’s selection of Shashikant Shinde and Shriram Patil to represent them in Satara and Raver, respectively, is expected to intensify the electoral contest.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi caused a commotion in politics when he made statements at a campaign event in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, farther south. Modi highlighted the NDA’s efforts to create a wealthy India and the BJP’s increasing support in the state. His severe criticism, meanwhile, was directed at the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which he charged with monopolizing corruption and impeding the advancement of the state through its “family company” model. With a focus on the DMK’s supposed divisive tactics and treatment of political opponents, especially the late Jayalalithaa, Modi’s rhetoric became more aggressive.

Meanwhile, as he prepares to mobilize support for Raju Parwe, the Shiv Sena’s candidate, in Nagpur, Modi’s electoral passion spreads to Maharashtra. Parwe’s transition from the Congress to the Shiv Sena highlights how fluid coalitions are in Indian politics. As Maharashtra prepares for multiple phases of voting, the results of each campaign stop will have a big impact on the outcome of the election.

Turning our attention to Krishnagiri, there is a political confrontation developing between the Congress-DMK coalition and the AIADMK. Both parties are using themes of dissatisfaction to their advantage, attacking the state-level DMK government as well as the federal BJP-led government. Smaller parties like the NTK compete for attention in the middle of this conflict, which further complicates the electoral picture.

Both well-known candidates and fresh faces compete for the support of the voters in this area. Experienced politician K. Gopinath has been nominated by the Congress, and V. Jayaprakash has been proposed by the AIADMK. Furthermore, to add to the electoral complication, the BJP and NTK have fielded candidates, Vidya Rani and C. Narasimhan, respectively.

These updates provide an insight into the competitive races and calculated moves that are determining India’s political future as the nation prepares for yet another spectacular election.

Maharashtra | NCP (SP) announces 3rd list of candidates

The NCP (SP), led by Sharad Pawar, has unveiled its third slate of candidates for the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections. On behalf of the party, Shashikant Shinde (Satara) and Shriram Patil (Raver) will run.

Modi’s Campaign in the Elections of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu

When: April 10, 2024, at 11:45 a.m.
Where: Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent campaign rallies in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and his impending rally in Nagpur, Maharashtra, are significant turning points in the unfolding drama of the nation’s democratic process as the political battleground heats up throughout India.

In a heated speech, Prime Minister Modi outlined the vision for a thriving India shared by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Vellore. Modi sought to bolster support for his party’s candidates in the approaching elections by highlighting Tamil Nadu’s noteworthy contributions to the country’s industrial and space sectors.

But what made news was his vicious criticism of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Modi’s remarks, which accused the DMK of being a corrupt “family company,” resonated with the crowd. He painted the DMK as an impediment to Tamil Nadu’s development, highlighting its purported resource exploitation for private benefit.

Modi’s trip to Nagpur, Maharashtra, highlights the importance of the current election contest. As a campaigner for Raju Parwe of the Shiv Sena, a recent Congress defector, Modi’s presence in the state signifies the BJP’s strategic partnerships. Maharashtra provides 48 Lok Sabha seats, hence every constituency plays a significant role in determining the political climate in the area.

Tamil Nadu | Modi’s Chennai roadshow – yet another reflection of the BJP’s ‘southern push’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Tamil Nadu on April 9 and April 10 to drum up support for his party in the Lok Sabha election has only reinforced the perception that the BJP is devoting a greater amount of time and energy this time to make inroads into the southern State than in the past.

This is Mr. Modi’s seventh trip to Tamil Nadu since February 27

In The Patanjali Ads Case, The Supreme Court Told Authorities, “We Will Rip You Apart”

Following that, the Supreme Court stated that Ramdev and Balkrishna attempted to avoid making the trip to court by claiming to be traveling overseas.

Delhi New: The Supreme Court declared today that “we are not blind” and that “it does not want to be generous” in this case, rejecting yet another round of apologies from Patanjali founders Ramdev and Balkrishna for the company’s deceptive advertisements. The court chastised the Uttarakhand licensing authorities for their prolonged inaction against Patanjali and expressed dissatisfaction with the Centre’s response.
“There’s a written apology. They have a wall to their back. Judges Hima Kohli and Amanullah stated, “We decline to accept this, we consider it a deliberate violation of undertaking.”

The bench observed that Ramdev and Balkrishna had communicated their apologies to the media before the commencement of the proceedings. The contemnors did not think it appropriate to submit the affidavits until the case was before the court. They sent it to the media first, and it wasn’t uploaded for us until 7:30 p.m. yesterday. It is evident that they value notoriety,” Judge Kohli remarked.

Speaking on behalf of the Patanjali founders, Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi stated that the apology had been fulfilled and that he was unable to speak for the registry.

Judge Amanullah stated, “You are defrauding the affidavit,” as he read aloud the affidavits. I’m shocked at who wrote it.” When Mr. Rohatgi claimed that there had been a “lapse,” the court said, “very small word.”

How “even heartfelt” is the apology, Justice Amanullah questioned. “We shall say what further has to be said, my lords. He does not practice law as a career. In life, people make mistakes,” Mr. Rohatgi retorted. Even after what we told you? Expressing regret is insufficient. You ought to pay the price for disobeying the court’s ruling. In this instance, we don’t want to be giving,” he remarked.

The court ruled that the general public needs to be made aware of this. “This involves breaking the law as well as one FMCG. When state authorities requested you to leave, you responded by saying that HC had not taken any coercive action against us. We are incorporating it into your behavior; the bigger picture is how you interact with the public, even when you claim to be acting in good faith.”

In the meantime, the court addressed the Uttarakhand government, questioning why the license inspectors had not taken action and why three officers needed to be suspended simultaneously. The state’s officers had done nothing, according to the court. “We strongly oppose to the term ‘bonafide’ being applied to officials. We will not treat (it) casually. It threatened to “rip you apart” and said that the cops were merely “pushing files.”

“The government complained about a false advertisement in a letter to the Uttarakhand licensing authority in 2021. The licensing authority received a response from the company. But the authorities only issued a warning, letting the corporation go. The court stated that the 1954 Act does not include provisions for warning or compounding the offense.

Six times this has happened, back and forth, and each time the licensing inspector has said nothing. The officer has not submitted a report. The subsequent appointee behaved in the same manner. It said, “All three of those policemen ought to be suspended immediately, and the licensing body was “in collaboration with the contemnors.”

The bench said that the Supreme Court is being mocked. “You are acting like a post office. Did you take legal advice? Shameful of you,” it told the state counsel. “Why don’t we agree that you are hand-in-glove with Patanjali,” the court asked the authority, adding, “You have been playing with people’s lives”.

When the Uttarakhand counsel told the court that they would take action, Justice Kohli remarked, “Thank God, now you have woken up at last and realize that there is a statute existing.”

“What about all the faceless people who have consumed these Patanjali medicines stated to cure diseases that cannot be cured? Can you do this to an ordinary person?” the court said. The licensing authority apologized to the court and assured that they would surely act on the matter.

The Supreme Court then said Ramdev and Balkrishna tried to wriggle out of physical appearance in court and said they were traveling abroad.

The state licensing authority, it noted, was in “deep slumber” and the “disdain” shown by Divya pharmacy to the warnings of state authority is “apparent from tone and tenor of the reply”.

The court said all who held posts as district ayurvedic and unani officers who held posts from 2018 till now shall file replies on actions taken by them against these ads. The court said it will pass orders on Ramdev and Balkrishna on April 16.

Will bail be granted to Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case? Hearing before the High Court of Delhi today!

At 2:30 pm, the Delhi High Court will decide on Arvind Kejriwal bail request. From the Tihar jail where he is currently incarcerated, Arvind Kejriwal continues to lead the Delhi government.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been in judicial jail for a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. He has challenged his arrest, and the Delhi High Court (HC). will rule on his appeal today. At 2:30 pm, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will make a ruling about Arvind Kejriwal’s appeal. From the Tihar jail where he is currently in jail, Arvind Kejriwal continues to lead the Delhi government.

Citing the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the law enforcement agency has opposed Arvind Kejriwal’s bail request, claiming that he is an “aam aadmi” and that the law applies to him equally. After serving six months in jail, AAP leader Sanjay Singh was recently granted bail; it remains to be seen if the Delhi High Court will accept Arvind Kejriwal’s request for bail.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Durgesh Pathak and incarcerated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant (PA), Bibhav Kumar, have been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation related to the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22 case. The claims of corruption led to the policy’s withdrawal.

K Kavitha, an MLC for Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), was detained by the ED last month on suspicion of plotting with senior AAP officials to obtain preferential treatment when the Delhi Excise policy was being developed and carried out. In addition, the agency claims that she gave ₹100 crore in return for the favors. Since March 15, Kavitha has been in judicial custody.

In connection with the excise policy scandal, the ED has detained 16 people thus far, including Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, and Arvind Kejriwal, as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near.

The high court denied a new request on Monday to remove Arvind Kejriwal from his position as chief minister, stating that the petitioner should have incurred “heavy costs” and that the case was filed primarily for “publicity.”

PM Modi criticizes Kharge’s statement over J&K, labelling it as a “gang mentality.”

At a Jaipur rally, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge chastised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing up the subject of Rajasthan’s Article 370 abrogation.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took aim at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for his comments made the day before in Jaipur, Rajasthan, about Jammu and Kashmir.

“As the national president of the Congress, this is no insignificant position. Furthermore, the leader believes that Rajasthan has nothing to do with Article 370. Is Jammu & Kashmir not an essential component of the nation? He thinks like a tukde-tukde gang member,” Modi reportedly said during a rally in Nawada, Bihar, according to PTI.

The prime minister emphasized that “their bodies have reached their native places wrapped in tricolour” after security personnel from all over India—including Rajasthan and Bihar—lost their lives battling terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The INDIA bloc talks a lot about the Constitution. Their leaders should tell the people why they could not implement the Samvidhan of Baba Saheb Ambedkar fully in Jammu and Kashmir. Why did it take a Modi to do so?” the PM asked.

The prime minister’s attack comes a day after Kharge at a rally in Jaipur criticised him for raising the issue of Article 370 abrogation in Rajasthan.

Yesterday PM Modi addressed a rally in Rajasthan’s Churu. There are a lot of issues related to the farmers. The farmers are suffering and thousands of them have died by suicide. Instead of speaking about their issues, PM said he removed 371. What do the people here have to do with it?” Kharge had said.

Union home minister Amit Shah had also lashed out at the Congress chief, saying,”It is shameful to hear that the Congress party is asking, “Kashmir se kya waasta hai (What is the relation with Kashmir)?” I would like to remind the Congress party that J&K is an integral part of India, and every state and citizen has the right over J&K, just as the people of J&K have the right over the rest of India.

Yogi’s law and order model is praised by PM

Law and order is praised by PM Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yogi promises to lead the global coalition against terrorism under Modi’s direction. The development focus of UP is emphasized.

The most populous state’s “law and order” approach, implemented by Yogi Adityanath as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was commended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. On his side, the chief minister stated that India will lead the world in combating the threat of terrorism under PM Modi’s direction.

At an election rally in Saharanpur, Modi praised Yogi and said, “I know Yogiji will not spare criminals, allow even the slightest of let-up on the law-and-order front.” He also mentioned some of the state’s well-liked programs, like one district, one product (ODOP), as evidence of the double engine government’s commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged and ensuring that they receive the best price for their produce.

A major component of the BJP’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh, which produces a maximum of 80 MPs for the Lok Sabha, is improving peace and order. Modi has already commended Yogi’s dedication to maintaining peace and order. Since 2018, Modi has praised Adityanath’s efforts in maintaining law and order at most of his rallies, a move that has been echoed by other senior officials. Speaking before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yogi earlier mentioned an article that had just surfaced in a prominent British journal, which described how the current Indian government, led by Modi, had zero tolerance for crime, criminals, or disorder.

The British newspaper report describes how terrorists were hunted down and murdered in Pakistan between 2021 and 2022. Yogi Adityanath stated, “The message is loud and clear that there is zero tolerance against corruption and anarchy in India today, even though only ‘The Guardian’ can reveal its source.”

India denies hand in Pakistan killings, calls report ‘false and malicious’

Reports claiming that India was involved in targeted killings in Pakistan following the 2019 Pulwama incident in Jammu & Kashmir have been refuted by the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Ministry of External Affairs has referred to claims made by a foreign media outlet claiming India executed targeted killings in Pakistan as “false and malicious propaganda” and denied any truth to those claims. According to intelligence agents in Pakistan and India cited in an article published in The Guardian, India’s action was a component of a larger plan to eradicate terrorists who were residing abroad.

In reaction to the report, the Ministry of External Affairs told The Guardian that the accusations were “false and malicious anti-India propaganda”. The ministry also emphasized an earlier declaration made by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, according to which targeted assassinations abroad are “not the policy of the government of India.”

INDIA-PAKISTAN RELATIONS
India and Pakistan have been experiencing deteriorating ties for a number of years as a result of Pakistan’s claimed sponsorship of terrorism, accommodation for India’s designated terrorists, and unlawful possession of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

According to Geo News, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, has voiced optimism for improved bilateral relations with India following the conclusion of the country’s impending general elections.

“After elections there, our relations with India could be better,” Asif told reporters on April 1 outside the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Later, on April 4, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India’s ties with all neighbours, except China and Pakistan, have improved significantly compared to previous times.
