“As a film enthusiast, I enjoy watching, creating, and discussing films. For a cinema enthusiast like me, Cannes has always represented the height of the medium’s potential. My favorite spot to be is in a dark, crowded theater with strangers, watching a brand-new movie,” Gerwig stated in a statement. The poster features Kartik Aaryan running on the field, drenched in sweat. The caption on the poster read, “The man who refused to surrender.” The film will hit theatres on June 14 this year. Captioning the post on Instagram, Kartik Aaryan wrote, “Champion Aa Raha Hai…(Champion is coming). A day ago, Kartik Aaryan shared a sneak peek of the film’s first poster on social media. However, things took a surprising turn when his mischievous feline companion, Katori interrupted his promotional diaries. Katori playfully contributed to the promotional efforts by ‘assisting’ in tearing apart the poster. Sharing the video on Instagram, he wrote, “Aaj se promotion ka shubharambh hona tha lekin. Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion narrates the story of a sportsman’s resilience and determination. Kartik Aaryan steps into the role of Chandu. Reportedly, the film is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist in freestyle swimming.

For the unversed, this collaboration marks Kartik Aaryan’s first project with director Kabir Khan.

On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha, co-starring Kiara Advani. Last year, he also made a cameo appearance in Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He also has an untitled project with Karan Johar in the line-up.

HBO’s hit Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon season 2, is set to premiere in June. The new season will continue the story of the Targaryen dynasty, which takes place nearly 200 years before the events in Game of Thrones. 

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham are returning cast members. With Ramayana, Kapoor is set to surpass not only his own record but also set new benchmarks for the entire Hindi film industry. “The film requires 600 days of post-production work, which speaks volumes about the investment needed to create some of the most original visuals ever seen. The aim is to elevate Indian cinema to a global level,” the source explained.

Ramayana will also feature KGF star Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, adding to the film’s star-studded cast.

The news of Ramayana’s massive budget and grand scale has sparked a variety of reactions on social media.

On Reddit, one user commented, “It is risk management. Ramayana is one of those stories that is guaranteed to work even if the movie is average. Adipurush is arguably the worst rendition of Ramayana and it made 354 crores at the box office. If it was any other story, it would have made less than 100 crores. Indians are very religious.”
