VITEEE Result 2024 Announced: What’s Next

The VIT will next announce the counseling dates and selected candidates can participate in online counseling based on their ranking. They can give options for specific campuses, programs, and categories of fees. Allotment will be based on the matching of the rank obtained and available options.

Candidates with a rank up to one lakh will be eligible for counseling at all four campuses – VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT AP, and VIT Bhopal. Rank holders above one lakh will be eligible for counseling at VIT AP and VIT Bhopal campuses only.

VIT will verify the eligibility of candidates after completing the tuition fee payment on or before the stipulated date. Candidates are required to produce documents on the day of coming to the campus or as and when asked for, by the Office of Admissions.

Provisional admission offered during counseling will be valid only if the eligibility is fulfilled, VIT said.

Lok Sabha elections 2024 news: Priyanka Gandhi is not contesting the Raebareli Lok Sabha elections from either of the two Congress bastions. The last date for filing nominations from both Rae Bareli and Amethi is today.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat and Congress loyalist KL Sharma has been fielded from the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency, according to the Congress party’s press release.

Priyanka Gandhi is not contesting the Lok Sabha elections from either of the two Congress bastions. The last date for filing nominations from both Rae Bareli and Amethi is today.

India leads Bangladesh 3-0 in the series after a 91-run opening partnership between Shafali Verma and Smriti.

The Gandhi family will be in Amethi for KL Sharma’s nomination. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge will be present at the occasion, news agency ANI reported quoting a local Congress worker. 

The worker said: “The Gandhi family is coming for KL Sharma nomination. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge will be here…”

Apart from Rae Bareli, the Gandhi scion has contested from Kerala’s Wayanad as well. While the voting in Rae Bareli is slated to take on May 20, voters of Wayanad exercised their right to franchise on April 26.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced Dinesh Pratap Singh as its candidate from Rae Bareli. In the 2019 general elections, Singh lost to Sonia Gandhi. Amethi and Rae Bareli have been Congress bastions in Uttar Pradesh.

Rahul Gandhi represented the Amethi for three consecutive terms from 2004 till 2019 when he lost against BJP leader and sitting MP from Amethi Smriti Irani. At present, Rahul Gandhi represents Kerala’s Wayanad constituency.

Before Rahul Gandhi, his mother, and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi represented Amethi from 1999-2004. Before Sonia Gandhi, the seat was represented by Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. 

Rae Bareli, on the other hand, has been represented by Sonia Gandhi for around two decades from 2004 to 2024. Earlier this year, the former Congress president said she would not contest the Lok Sabha elections and moved to the Rajya Sabha, citing ill health. 

Alliance with Samajwadi Party

The Congress has entered into an alliance with the Samajwadi Party in the state as part of the INDIA bloc and is contesting 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

As per the seat-sharing with the SP, Congress is contesting Raebareli, Amethi, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur Sikri, Basgaon, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, Maharajganj, Amroha, Jhansi, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Sitapur, Barabanki and Deoria. Notably, the Congress has fielded its UP state chief Ajay Rai against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi.

Students need to score a minimum passing mark of 33% in each subject and overall to pass the examinations. To discourage unhealthy competition among students, the CBSE has opted not to publish any merit lists.

This is the story where Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva join hands to protect the great kingdom of Mahishmati and the throne against its greatest threat, the mysterious warlord known only as Raktadeva. Two weeks after Dubai was battered by record storms that paralyzed the emirate for days, heavy rains and thunderstorms pounded the UAE on Thursday, forcing the cancellation of many international flights.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) of the nation increased the system’s readiness and preparedness levels on Wednesday to handle the crisis.

The public is advised to take measures even though it is anticipated that these rains will not be as bad as the extraordinary deluge that slammed the nation last month. The Arabian Peninsula was pounded by intense rains on April 14–15, with Dubai receiving the most rain in the city’s history since 1949. Due to severe weather across the United Arab Emirates, Dubai-based Emirates Airline said on Thursday that it was canceling many flights. This came as a result of lower traffic at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

“Customers arriving or departing from Dubai airport on 2 May can expect some delays as flights are rescheduled,” Emirates said in a statement. The following flights have been canceled on May 2: EK 123/124 – between Dubai and Istanbul, EK 763/764 – between Dubai and Johannesburg, EK 719/720 – between Dubai and Nairobi, Ek 921/922 – between Dubai and Cairo, EK 903/904 – between Dubai and Amman, and EK 352/353 – between Dubai and Singapore (EK353 departing 3 May, 12.30 am – UAE time). “Based on the expected weather conditions, the Ministry of Interior recommended, in coordination with NCEMA, activating remote learning on Thursday and Friday for all educational institutions, with decisions to be made by the competent authorities at the federal level and officials of local emergency management teams, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Emirates Schools Establishment,” it said on Wednesday.

As heavy winds and light rains lashed across the main cities, residents appeared more equipped to ride it out. Remote work systems were advised for all government and private sectors on Thursday and Friday, except for vital jobs that require presence at the workplace and those involved in response and recovery efforts. The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with NCEMA, also decided to close all roads leading to areas prone to flash floods, water accumulations, and dams during the weather conditions.

“They urged the public to stay away from these areas and adhere to safety standards and guidelines, avoid mountainous, desert, and coastal areas,” said a statement. Besides moderate to heavy rain in scattered areas, accompanied by occasional lightning and thunder, a possibility of small hail, concentrated in the western regions, on the coasts, and in some eastern areas has also been warned.

Some flights were disrupted on Wednesday and some events were postponed due to the inclement weather conditions. Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways said its flight (EY197) from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) was diverted to Al-Ain “due to adverse weather conditions in Abu Dhabi.” The flight, which was scheduled to arrive in Abu Dhabi around 1.35 pm, eventually landed around 7-30 pm.

In Dubai, the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) announced the temporary suspension of accepting requests for the entry and departure of wooden dhows in Dubai. They have been asked to exercise caution while driving vehicles and adhere to the instructions of the competent authorities.
