IPL 2024 Final and Presentation Ceremony: Here’s the complete list of IPL winners: Orange Cap, Purple Cap, MVP, Fair Play, Best Catch, Emerging Player, and Fair Play Award.

Complete list of IPL champions and runners-up: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), captained by Shreyas Iyer, defeated Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Sunday to win their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title. KKR had won the IPL crown in 2012 and 2014, and they dominated this season, finishing first in the league stage with nine wins from 14 games.

The Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the two teams that have won the IPL five times each. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, and Rajasthan Royals have all won once apiece.

“It was comprehensive,” said Kolkata skipper Shreyas Iyer, who also appeared in an IPL final for the Delhi Capitals in 2020, but lost to the Mumbai Indians.

“This is what we wanted of the players, and they stepped up. There is so much to be grateful for right now that it is difficult to put into words. There was no single person who led us here; it was a team effort, and it was a perfect season for us.”

Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat. But the Sunrisers were deflated inside the first seven overs as they limped to 47-4 against an impeccable attack of Starc, Harshit Rana (2-24) and Vaibhav Arora (1-24). Russell mopped up the lower order with 3-19 and Hyderabad was in danger of not reaching 100 before Cummins hit 24 off 19 balls and was the last man dismissed in the penultimate over.

“Russell has got a magic wand and he is looking towards me to bowl,” Shreyas Iyer said. “In the majority of the games he gave us breakthroughs.”

TRAVISHEK vs BOULT: The “Travishek Express” has been stalled recently due to Travis Head’s consecutive ducks. Left-arm pacers have rattled his off-stump twice in a row—first Arshdeep Singh from PBKS and then Mitchell Starc from KKR. Head’s poor shot selection has been to blame. Powerplay specialist Trent Boult will be eager to exploit this weakness. SRH openers have been impressive, boasting a season strike rate of 11.48 runs per over in the first six overs. Boult, with an economy rate of 6.71 in the powerplay and nine wickets this season, will be a key threat.

IPL Qualifier 2: Chennai Pitch and weather conditions

The MA Chidambaram Stadium pitch is known to favor bowlers, especially spinners, due to its significant grip and turn. This spin-friendly surface poses a challenge for batters, limiting scoring opportunities and likely leading to a match dominated by bowlers. Teams may prefer to bowl first if they win the toss. Recent records support this strategy, as chasing teams have won five of the seven games this season.

Cricket fans in Chennai can expect favorable weather for the upcoming match. Though cloudy, there’s no chance of rain. Temperatures may reach 32°C, testing players’ endurance, but winds at 19 km/hr should provide some relief. Humidity will be around 76%, impacting both batters and bowlers.

IPL Qualifier 2- SRH vs RR: Team News

SRH can bring in Aiden Markram or Glenn Phillips for Vijayakanth Viyaskanth to strengthen their batting, with Mayank Markande replacing Sanvir Singh as the leg-spinner. If batting first, SRH can start with Head, Klaasen, and captain Pat Cummins, adding Phillips or Markram as needed.

IPL Qualifier 2- SRH vs RR: Who Will Win?

The Qualifier 2 is expected to be a high-octane tense clash with both RR and SRH vying for a berth in the final and their second IPL title. However, Chepauk’s slow pitch might give Rajasthan a slight edge because of their superior spin attack.

RCB Skipped Practice due to Ahmedabad Heat, no Terror Threat.

IPL 2024 Eliminator: Because of Ahmedabad’s intense heat and humidity, Virat Kohli and the Royal Bengal took a break from practicing. In contrast to what the media has reported, sources told India Today that the star batsman for the RCB wasn’t in danger from terrorism.

    • RCB face RR in the Eliminator of IPL 2024
    • RCB skipped their training session ahead of the match
    • Reports speculated that RCB cancelled their practice due to terrot threat

In the Indian Premier League 2024 Eliminator, RCB and RR are scheduled to play. There were a lot of media headlines just hours before the match claiming that Virat Kohli’s terror threat forced to call off their practise session. Nevertheless, IndiaToday.in has discovered that the called off their practise session because of extreme heat, not a danger from terrorism.

Due to the intense midday heat, decided to postpone their practise session, according to sources who spoke with Inditoday.in. On Wednesday, May 22, the team was informed that the floodlights would only be accessible until 6:30 p.m., at which point their session was cancelled.

“Originally, it was scheduled for 2 p.m., but they rescheduled it to 5 p.m. Then, between 4 and 6 p.m., they inquired. We informed the team that after 6:30 p.m. is when the floodlights are available. That wasn’t a problem; it was acceptable. But it was forty-five degrees Celsius outside. In order to protect the players’ health, they made the decision to forgo practice. IndiaToday.in has been informed by a reliable source within the Ahmedabad stadium that there was no security threat.

We also gave them the option of giving indoor practice arena but they said they will skip the session due to heat,” he further added.

IPL 2024: RCB eye revenge vs RR

RCB have been in sensational form going into the playoffs this season. From the brink of getting knocked out, have won 6 games in a row to stage an incredible comeback in the tournament. beat CSK by more than 17 runs to edge the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side into the playoffs. The team will face RR on Wednesday, and if they win, will face SRH on the 24th to push for a chance in the final of the tournament.

‘Bengaluru Cant’: CSK Tushar Deshpande Reacts to RCB’s IPL 2024 exit in Viral Instagram Post.

After losing to RR, RCB hopes of winning the IPL came to an end. Motivated by a meme that CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande published, CSK supporters ridiculed RCB on social media.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, managed by Faf Du Plessis, lost to Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets on Wednesday, therefore eliminating them from the IPL 2024 competition. RCB had hoped to win their first IPL championship this year after an incredible comeback that saw them win six straight games to qualify for the playoffs, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.

But not long after RR’s triumph, Chennai Super Kings fans severely harassed RCB and its best players on social media, reminding them of their antiques from the previous match. Tushar Deshpande, a pacer for CSK, also jumped on the bandwagon, posting a meme that went viral including a photo of Bengluru Cant station with the statement, “CSK fans are built different.” Even though the pacer ultimately made the decision to remove the story, it had already received a lot of social media exposure.

Notably, RCB had made a place in the playoffs after beating Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs in their last match. The high-scoring encounter saw RCB post a mammoth total of 218 runs while restricting their opponents to a total of 191 thanks to a brilliant bowling effort by Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj and Yash Dayal.

However, during the match , the celebration by RCB players on the wicket of MS Dhoni in the last over the match had become a contentious issue. Later on, Dhoni did not stay back to shake hands with the RCB players and Virat Kohli could be seen going to the CSK dressing room in order to meet the former Indian captain.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan while criticizing the behaviour of RCB players in the last encounter had told Cricbuzz, “You shake hands and then do your cartwheels and stuff. I wouldn’t want to be an RCB player waking up tomorrow morning thinking MS Dhoni has just announced his retirement and we didn’t have the decency to go and shake his hand first,”

Shah Rukh Khan Instantly Regrets Mistake During Lap Of Honour After KKR IPL 2024 Final Entry.

After unintentionally interrupting the live post-match show between KKR and SRH in Ahmedabad, Shah Rukh Khan quickly apologised to the former cricket players hosting the show.

Kolkata Knight Riders, who won their fourth final after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets, put on an electrifying display at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The club finished first in the league stage points table. The bowlers set up the incredible victory, taking out SRH for a mere 159 runs before Venkatesh and Shreyas Iyer, on an undefeated 97-run stand, chased it down in 13.4 overs.

In Ahmedabad, where Pat Cummins a few months ago silenced the Indian crowd to win the ODI World Cup, SRH elected to bat first. However, they had a disastrous start as Mitchell Starc took three wickets with the new ball, including Travis Head, who was removed for a duck in the second ball of the match. Rahul Tripathi’s explosive 35-ball fifty-five and his 62-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen did manage to save some life from SRH’s innings, but KKR responded with a collapse. In just thirty balls at a cost of twenty-five runs, Sunrisers lost the following five wickets. But Cummins contributed usefully with the bat to take the score above 150.

In response, KKR lost their two openers in the first seven overs, but respective fifties from Venkatesh and captain Shreyas saw the two-time champions chase down 160 with 38 balls to spare.

After the match, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, his daughter Suhana and son AbRam greeted the fans with a lap around the Narendra Modi Stadium. During their gesture for the fans, they inadvertently interrupted JioCinema’s IPL 2024 Hindi broadcast show, which was being shot live on the ground.

Shah Rukh then quickly apologised to former India cricketers Aakash Chopra, Parthiv Patel and Suresh Raina, who were conducting the show, hugged all of them and then apologised to the fans watching the broadcast before continuing with his lap around the venue.

Suhana was seen carefully bypassing the cameras while holding hands of her brother.

“Oh, what a man! Legend!” smiled Aakash. “He did not even realise that he walked into the show. He was very apologetic, but I said, ‘You made our day. You are the showstopper.”

The former India opener also took to X to call Shah Rukh a legend.

Video: Shah Rukh Khan mistakenly interrupts KKR vs SRH post-match broadcast, says sorry immediately

The former India opener then recalled his two-year stint at KKR between 2008 and 2009. “I spent a bit of time at KKR with him. I batted at No. 8 and also at No. 6 then. He was very supportive.”

KKR will now await the winner of Qualifier 2 to face them in the final at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on May 26. Hyderabad, on the other hand, will have another shot at making the final when they face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 of the T20 tournament on Friday in Chennai.

While they look to win their first championship in Eliminator 1 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have taken the crowd by surprise by winning six straight games. The resurgent team has finally found their groove and is now unbeatable after eliminating the previous champion Chennai Super Kings and keeping them from finishing in the top 4.

However, RR has fallen short of them after dropping their latest game and losing four in a row. The team will rely on performances from its batting aces, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel, as they attempt to recapture their previous momentum.

    2. Faf Du Plessis

RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis has kept the momentum high in the opening unit alongside Virat Kohli. The Protean cricketer has given a rock-solid start to the team while setting and chasing totals. Players who can make a difference

    1. Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal has bowled comprehensively this season, leading as the highest wicket-taker for RCB. One of the most proficient players at the death, the left-arm pacer bowled the decisive last over against CSK in the last match which turned the fortunes of RCB as they qualified for the playoffs.

    2. Dinesh Karthik

Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik’s contribution in the lower-middle order have been very crucial for the RCB. Karthik can shift the momentum rapidly down the order by providing 20-30 extra runs to the scoreline. In 14 matches, the RCB batter has scored 315 runs at a soaring strike rate of 195.65 with 2 fifties to his name.

    Player Statistics (Rajasthan Royals)

    1. Riyan Parag

Left-hand batter Riyan Parag has been impressive in the middle-order for the Royals. The young gun scored 531 runs from 14 matches with four fifties to his name and the highest score for him being an unbeaten 84.

    2. Sanju Samson

Skipper Sanju Samson has kept the hopes alive for RR in crucial junctures of the match, even when the other players have faltered in the batting unit. Being the second highest run scorer in the team, Samson has scored 504 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 156.52 with 5 fifties to his name.

Players who can make a difference

    1. Yuzvendra Chahal

RR’s spin wizard Yuzvendra Chahal has been the highest wicket-taker for the Royals so far. The Indian wrist spinner has picked timely wickets and stopped the flow of runs in the testing phases of the game. Chahal has picked 17 wickets from 13 matches at an economy of 9.38.

    2. Sandeep Sharma

Medium-pacer Sandeep Sharma has been one of the trickiest players to deal with in the Royals line-up. The Indian bowler has played a vital role in restraining the run-flow in the middle and death overs. In 9 matches, Sandeep has picked 10 wickets at an excellent economy of 7.93.

    Head-to-head

As the two teams contest for the 32nd time in the history of IPL, their head-to-head has been in favour of the Royal Challengers who won 15 meetings. The inaugural edition champions follow them with 13 wins with 4 matches ending in no result.

    Pitch Report

The Narendra Modi Stadium has been a batting paradise that offers a lot of scoring opportunities for the batsmen. The due factor in the second innings acts as an icing on the cake for the team batting second. And evidently so, out of the 33 matches played here at this venue, 18 matches have been won by teams batting second. Thus, the teams winning the toss must bowl first at this venue and restrict the team to a chasable total.

    Match Prediction

As resurgent RCB come from six consecutive wins, the momentum will be convincingly in their favour against a struggling RR who have lost four consecutive encounters. With Virat Kohli and co. looking in fiery hot form, the RCB stand as the favourites to win the clash. IPL 2024 Playoffs: KKR vs SRH in Qualifier 1, RCB-RR clash in Eliminator.

Can KKR vs SRH keep the flavour of their season without Salt? How much of a loss Buttler will be to RR? Is this the RCB’s year at last?

The IPL 2024 playoffs are almost here. Which Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) or Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team would finish the KKR vs SRH playoff lineup was decided in a thrilling match on Saturday. It wasn’t until the very last league game, a washout in Guwahati last night, that we found out who would play who, but we now know. Additionally, none of the top four seeds from 2023 make the cut, making this a totally different playoff lineup than it was the previous year.

Qualifier 1: KKR vs SRH, May 21, Ahmedabad

For the first time, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have concluded the league phase as the top team heading into the first qualifying round. Despite losing their last two games, they ended up with three more points than any other team. Will they be rusted or renewed? If SRH is any indication, taking a vacation from cricket can be beneficial. They returned after a 10-day break, which they attributed to both the weather and the schedule, and they successfully chased 215 against Punjab Kings on Sunday. In IPL 2024, this was SRH’s only other victory in a game they chased.

    • Previous meeting: They’ve played each other only once this season, both team’s first game of IPL 2024. It was a high-scoring thriller that ended in a last-ball four-run win for KKR at Eden Gardens.
    • Player availability: The England players who will be going to the upcoming T20 World Cup have withdrawn early from the IPL, and among them is one of KKR’s lynchpins this season: Sunil Narine’s big-hitting opening partner, Phil Salt.
    • Weather forecast: “Very hot with plenty of sunshine” – that’s the forecast for Ahmedabad on May 21, and the heat will hardly relent as the lights come on for the evening match: it’s a minimum of 31C on the day. The forecast says there’s a 0% chance of rain.

Eliminator: RR vs RCB, May 22, Ahmedabad

RR had won seven of their opening eight games, and on April 22 they were flying high at the top of the table. Conversely, RCB was struggling at the other end of the table, having lost as many games as RR had won, including six straight losses. When we fast-forward to May 20, we see an astounding turnaround: prior to Sunday’s washout, RR had won one out of the previous six games and lost four. With six straight victories under their belt, RCB enters this knockout match with the upper hand.

    • Previous meeting: They’ve played each other once this year, a convincing win for RR in Jaipur, where Virat Kohli hit a century only to be outdone by Jos Buttler.
    • Player availability: This time, RR will be without Buttler, who’s part of the English T20 World Cup contingent that’s left the tournament. RCB will be without Will Jacks and Reece Topley for the same reasons.
    • Weather forecast: The forecast doesn’t change much from Qualifier 1. Ahmedabad should remain hot and dry for the Eliminator.
    KKR vs SRH

Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of the Eliminator, May 24, Chennai

    • Weather forecast: Some clouds are forecast during the day, but only a 5% chance of rain. A low of 29C, so another hot, sweaty evening in store for the players.

Final: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Qualifier 2, May 26, Chennai

There’s a possibility of a first-time winner: RCB, ending a 16-year drought in the same season that their women’s team knocked off the Women’s Premier League title in its second edition.

    KKR vs SRH

Or RR could win their first title since the inaugural season when Shane Warne’s relatively unfancied team saw off MS Dhoni’s Super Kings in the final.

For KKR it would be a first title since 2014, and their third overall. Quite the homecoming for Gautam Gambhir, that would be – he had captained KKR to both their previous titles, and played for them till 2017. This season, he shifted from Lucknow Super Giants back to KKR as team mentor.

SRH’s only title (not to confuse them with the other franchise from Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers, who won it in 2009) came in 2016 – can they add to that?

    • Weather forecast: Not much change from Qualifier 2, but slightly hotter even (min. 30 C) and even less chance of rain (4%).

‘Apni Aukaat Mat Bhulo’: Social Media Slams ‘Classless’ RCB Players for Neglecting CSK’s MS Dhoni After Playoff Decider Clash.

Fans and followers alike referred to RCB’s post-match celebration and their failure to give MS Dhoni a handshake as “classless” and “over the top” on social media, which sparked a discussion over the true spirit of the game.

A apparently insurmountable task presented as simple. Last night, Royal Challengers Bengaluru shocked everyone by winning six straight games and securing the final playoff berth, a point ahead of CSK, whom they routed by 27 runs in the Chinnaswamy on Saturday.

The RCB players came to the pitch in wild celebration to commemorate their stunning playoff qualification. Reaching a goal of this magnitude demands joy as well.

But as usual, there is more scrutiny when there are greater stakes. The “classless” and “prideful” celebration style that the Bengaluru team adopted following their victory over CSK has also gained popularity recently.

Fan footage from the Chinnaswamy last night following RCB’s triumph has surfaced on X. In it, the home team is shown celebrating by charging to the middle of the crease while the losers, CSK, are seen line up in order to shake hands with their opponents, with talisman MS Dhoni leading the pack.

Fans and followers alike referred to RCB’s post-match celebration and their failure to give MS Dhoni a handshake as “classless” and “over the top” on social media, which sparked a discussion over the true spirit of the game.

But, as a counter, many other users have also raised the question to MS Dhoni’s reaction, who is seen promptly walking away before shaking the players’ hands, who were in the middle of the crease.

Others pointed out Dhoni’s reaction as ‘arrogant’, stating that the CSK man could have indulged in some patience had he looked to address his rivals.

No matter what the case may be, one thing is for certain. RCB pulled off one of the biggest comebacks in IPL history, after clinching only one win in their first 8 games to securing playoff qualification. And that is surely something that calls for celebration.

In a thrilling encounter, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs, securing their place in the playoffs of IPL 2024. Rachin Ravindra’s explosive 61 off 37 balls and Faf du Plessis’s solid 54 off 39 balls laid a strong foundation for RCB. On the bowling front, Shardul Thakur and Yash Dayal delivered crucial spells, each taking two wickets, helping RCB to restrict CSK effectively.

Despite a valiant effort, CSK couldn’t chase down the target, leading to their elimination from the tournament. This win not only bolsters RCB’s confidence as they head into the playoffs but also marks a disappointing end to CSK’s campaign. RCB’s all-round performance highlights their potential as strong contenders for the title this season.
