Amit Shah, the union home minister, declared that the government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would never back down from the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

In an interview with ANI, the top BJP leader declared, “This is our sovereign right to ensure Indian citizenship in our country; we will never compromise on it and CAA will never be taken back.”

The home minister responded that even the opposition is aware of its slim prospects of winning power when questioned about the remarks made by the INDIA bloc leaders regarding the repeal of the law if they were to win office.

“Even the INDI coalition is aware that it will not gain control. The BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, introduced CAA. It cannot be reversed.

it. In order to deny a platform to those who wish to repeal it, we will raise awareness of it throughout the entire country, Shah declared.

He laughed aside the opposition’s claims that the controversial law is enabling the Bharatiya Janata Party to acquire new supporters.

“The opposition is unemployed. They’ve been known to say one thing and do another in the past. But the BJP’s and Prime Minister Modi’s histories are distinct. What the BJP or Prime Minister Modi say is indelible. “All of Modi’s promises have come true,” stated Shah.

Shah cited the opposition’s comparable objections to important national security issues in response to the accusation that the BJP is exploiting CAA for political purposes.

They went so far as to claim that airstrikes and surgical attacks had political benefits. Thus, ought we to do something to combat terrorism?” Shah asked.

“All opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata, or Kejriwal, are indulging in politics of lies, so the question of timing does not arise,” the minister responded to questions on the timing of the CAA notification.

Shah reaffirmed that the BJP has made clear what it intended to do with the CAA well in advance. He drew attention to the fact that the party’s 2019 manifesto included a pledge to implementing the CAA and granting Indian citizenship to refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was approved by both chambers of Parliament in 2019 as part of the BJP’s well-defined goal. It was postponed. because of Covid. Long before the party won a mandate in the elections, the BJP had cleared its agenda.”
