The message composition area of Google Messages is presently split into two sections. The text input box is in the first area, while the smiley, gallery, and icons are in the second section, which is directly beneath the first one. This design has a great deal of white space. A new report from 9To5 Google claims that the message composition area of Google Messages has been changed in the most recent beta version (20240404_01_RC00). It has the smiley button on the left, the gallery and icons on the right, and merely a text input box. The updated layout appears more elegant and takes up far less room. The Magic Compose icon appears in place of the gallery icon once the text is entered in the box.

Regretfully, by default, Google Messages does not display the updated message composition part. The new design had to be manually activated by the publication. We hope that when Google Messages releases its next beta, the firm will include it by default. After extensively testing the new design, which may take a few weeks or months, Google may decide to include it in the stable version of the app.
Google Messages will warn users about visiting links sent by unknown users via RCS
It has been revealed that Google will soon warn users about the risk of visiting links sent via RCS by users who aren’t on their contacts list. This feature isn’t live on the stable version of Google Messages yet and is under testing. It was spotted by Android enthusiast @AssembleDebug (via PiunikaWeb) in the latest beta version (20240402_01_RCO0) of Google Messages. An X user pointed out that this feature even works with links received via SMS. In recent Galaxy phones, the Google Messages app is the default SMS and RCS app instead of Samsung Messages.
Hopefully, Google knows about this bug and will release a fix for this issue. Keep an eye out for an update to the Google Play Store app on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet. You can check for the update by navigating to Settings » About » Update Play Store.
