Indian-origin man shot dead by US police in San Antonio

The Indian-born guy was wanted for assaulting a roommate.

The 42-year-old man of Indian descent, Sachin Sahoo, was shot and killed by San Antonio police on Sunday.

While trying to arrest Sachin in relation to an aggravated assault case, the officers are said to have damaged his car.

Officer Tyler Turner’s actions resulted in the immediate death of Sachin, an Indian national from Uttar Pradesh. After hitting his roommate, he was charged and placed on a wanted list.

Preliminary reports state that Sachin died there and then.
The San Antonio Police Department confirmed the incident in a statement to the Press Trust of India. It said that on April 21, just before 6:30 p.m., officers were summoned to a residence in Cheviot Heights, San Antonio, in response to an allegation of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
