Vineeta Singh, the judge of Shark Tank India and CEO of Sugar, posted a debate on Instagram between the biological clock and the job clock. “There is no career clock,” she said in her share, elaborating on her viewpoint.

“Ladies, there is no conflict between your career clock and biological clock!” The posting was Vineeta Singh. She described a time when she felt “underconfident” about the decisions she had made in life in the paragraphs that followed. She also discussed her father’s career and how it taught her that “putting oneself on a clock is not the solution—comparisons lead to sadness anyway! Not comparing is the answer.

Hailing from Lucknow, Vineeta Singh is an IIT Madras alumni who later continued her studies in IIM Ahmedabad. Before Sugar, a cosmetic brand that became a household name, she started Quetzal, but the company failed to take off. Undeterred from the hurdle, she co-founded Fab-Bag, a beauty subscription service, which experienced moderate success. Finally, in 2015, along with her husband, Kaushik Mukherjee, she launched Sugar, which claims to provide high-quality cosmetics at affordable prices.
