The federal investigative agency ED, which detained the chief minister in a case of money laundering connected to purported anomalies in the since-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021–2022, has not yet provided a response to the health update.
The Delhi High Court is being asked to grant relief by the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office announced on Wednesday afternoon that the chief minister’s health has worsened since his incarceration.
“CM Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar level has fallen to 46 and is still erratic. Doctors advise against lowering blood sugar levels this low, according to an official at the CM office. But there’s uncertainty about the test’s timing and other specifics.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who detained the chief minister in connection with a money laundering case involving purported anomalies in the since-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021–22 have not yet replied to the health update.
Sunita, the CM’s spouse, had earlier in the day provided information about Kejriwal’s health, stating that he had diabetes and that despite erratic blood sugar levels, he has a strong will to live.
Two hours after a meal, postprandial blood sugar levels in healthy persons should normally remain below 140 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter). These levels, however, may be higher in diabetics, indicating a problem with blood sugar regulation.
