Apple to host WWDC 2024 from June 10: From generative AI to iOS 18, all we can expect

Apple to host WWDC 2024

Apple has just announced the dates of its much anticipated event, WWDC 2024. The event will begin from June 10 and Apple is expected to make some exciting announcements this year.

In Short

  • Apple has announced the dates for WWDC 2024.
  • It will be held from June 10 to 14.
  • The event may feature updates on generative AI, and new versions of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS.

Apple has confirmed the date for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place this year on June 10. It will be a four-day event that will end on June 14, and some interesting announcements from the Cupertino-based tech giant appear to be in the works.

In a press statement, Apple stated that the event will take place online from June 10 to 14, 2024. On launch day, developers and students will be able to celebrate in person at a special event held in Apple Park.

The first day, June 10, will feature an in-person event where participants will be able to see the event’s keynote at Apple Park. They can also meet the team, take part in activities, and more.

Regarding what we can expect from the presentation, we are all aware that Apple has been working on generative AI for quite some time. CEO Tim Cook has also spoken about Apple’s aspirations for generative AI on multiple occasions. The company has been hiring for many generative AI positions and recently bought a startup, DarwinAI, to help accelerate its growth in the field. With so much going on in the generative AI sector, it’s safe to presume Apple will discuss AI for the first time at the event. However, this is only an assumption and should be taken with a grain of salt because Apple has not officially announced anything on the subject.

Aside from that, Apple is likely to release updated iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS updates, and the most recent macOS version for its devices.

“WWDC24 will highlight the most recent iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS advancements.” As part of Apple’s continuous commitment to assisting developers in elevating their applications and games, the event will also provide them with exclusive access to Apple specialists, as well as insights into future tools, frameworks, and features,” the company stated in a news release.

Meanwhile, speculations say that Apple is creating its own GenAI features, which will be included directly into the future iPhone 16 models. Additionally, considerable improvements are expected for iOS 18, making it one of the most significant upgrades in years. These updates could include more options for customizing the home screen and a redesigned Siri experience.

Apple impressed everyone last year when it revealed the Vision Pro headset at WWDC 2023. The device dominated the tech world’s conversation and took the internet by storm. A year later, Apple is likely to seize the lead with AI. Keep an eye on this space for more event-related developments.
