In India, Toyota introduces the Urban Cruiser Taisor, with a starting price of ₹7.73 lakh. The SUV, which has a number of interior conveniences and updated stylistic elements, is built on the same platform as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. With two engine choices, it is designed to compete with well-liked subcompact SUV vehicles.
With the introduction of the Urban Cruiser Taisor, Toyota has significantly expanded its SUV selection in the Indian market. At a competitive starting price of ₹7.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Urban Cruiser Taisor presents itself as a viable option for those looking for a subcompact SUV.
The Urban Cruiser Taisor takes its cues from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, yet it maintains its uniqueness with updated stylistic elements. The SUV is notable for its eye-catching front end, which features a dramatic gloss black honeycomb mesh grille with dual LED DRLs and the classic Toyota symbol in the middle. Redesigned LED taillights linked by a light bar on the boot are among the rear improvements that preserve the model’s svelte appearance with its raked back windscreen.
The Urban Cruiser Taisor’s interior, which includes a twin-pod instrument console with a MID unit and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, is similar to that of its predecessor in terms of comfort and sophistication. The interior is still equipped with a 360-degree camera, head-up display, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automated climate control, and more, despite having a new dual-tone design. Features like rear AC vents, a push-button start/stop system, and a six-speaker sound system further improve comfort.
In relation to the engine, the new Toyota SUV is available with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated or a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The turbocharged version produces 99 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque, while the non-turbo model produces 89 horsepower and 113 Nm.
torque-wise. Both engine options come with a 5-speed manual transmission; the naturally aspirated version also has a 5-speed AMT, while the turbocharged petrol version is mated to a 6-speed torque converter. For customers who care about the environment, there is also a CNG powertrain option.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor targets rival models including the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet in the hotly competitive subcompact SUV market. By providing consumers with an additional attractive option in the SUV market, the Taisor seeks to carve out a position for itself in the competitive landscape through its unique blend of style, amenities, and performance.
