Goldie has hinted at leaving the party by writing a poem on her Facebook page. He has written on his Facebook page that ‘we think that a new path should be made, how long will we continue to find the old path, we need light in the dark night, the lamp is not right but we will keep it on.’After reading this poem by the former MLA, the discussions of his leaving the Congress have gained momentum in the political corridors. Goldie was a ticket contender from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency.It is notable that President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa and Sukhpal Singh Khaira reached her house seeing Goldie’s displeasure. Goldie was also involved in campaigning for the party but now his latest statement has raised many speculations.
It may be mentioned that Dalveer Singh Goldi contested and won the 2017 assembly elections on behalf of the Congress, but he lost in the 2022 elections when he contested against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from Dhuri.
Dalveer Singh Goldi was fielded by the Congress in the 2022 parliamentary by-election, but he lost to Akali Dal (A) president Simranjit Singh Mann.
Goldie said that he was a contender for the ticket in the 2012 assembly elections, but the party gave the ticket to Arvind Khanna, who is now in the BJP.
