Kangana reposted a fan’s tweet, which mentioned that her last film Tejas is an ‘excellent movie.’ The fan said she ‘fails to understand why it didn’t do well,’ mentioning how ‘Karan Johar and gang are waiting to destroy her.’ Kangana shared this tweet and claimed that her films are subjected to ‘paid negativity. She also bashed Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal and wrote, “Paid negativity for my films is overwhelming, I have been fighting hard so far but even audiences are encouraging women beating films where they are treated like sex objects and asked to lick shoes.”

Hinting at a possible career change, the actor added, “This is deeply discouraging for someone who has been dedicating her life for woman empowerment films, might shift career in coming years, want to give best years of my life to something worthwhile.

Kangana discussed entering politics in a previous interview with ABP, stating that it’s a “vulgar thought.” But according to the actor, “the public and those in a position of power” must make that decision. She went on, “My job is so amazing. However, the political realm is challenging. The arts are purely professional. Goddess Saraswati blesses artists. Furthermore, the political sphere has always been cruel, as we are all aware. However, I will undoubtedly seize the chance to give back to my nation and demonstrate selflessness if it is offered. I will be there if my country needs me.

Kangana’s last film Tejas turned out be a massive box office failure. According to Sacnilk, the film, which was made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, minted only Rs 8.05 crore worldwide.

Before Kangana, Javed Akhtar had expressed how success of films like Animal is ‘dangerous.’ Speaking at the 9th Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Akhtar said, “If there’s a film in which a man asks a woman to lick his shoe or if a man says it’s okay to slap a woman… and the film is a super hit, that’s dangerous,” he said, referring to the scene between Ranbir and Triptii Dimri’s characters in Animal.
