China-backed conservative Islamic elements caused the Maldives crisis: Former Indian envoy

Dnyaneshwar Mulay claims that Muizzu is a close ally of President Abdullah Yameen, who is well-known for being pro-China and anti-Indian.

Maldives News

According to a former senior Indian diplomat, the swift deterioration of relations between India and the Maldives might be attributed to the rise of an Islamic conservative group on the Indian Ocean island.

“The crisis has been caused by a lack of understanding of the situation and the realities of bilateral relations between the two countries,” stated Dnyaneshwar Manohar Mulay, a former Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives. “Democracy in the Maldives is relatively young, in their teens.”

The newly elected Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting just one month ago, and since then, their ties have deteriorated dramatically. Three Maldivian politicians provoked the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, immediately with tweets criticizing him for his close links to Israel and for pushing the Lakshadweep islands during his recent visit, which was seen as a cost to the Maldives.

Additionally, the clergy made disparaging remarks about Indians. The damage is done even though the tweets were removed, the Ministers were suspended, and the Maldivian government disassociated itself from them.

“Whenever such developments happen, it is the result of some people, who have been polluting the minds of the island population there, and China has played a significant role in doing this,” stated former High Commissioner Mulay. It has been giving all of the support to the Maldives’ conservative components, and the country’s present administration is both strongly conservative and pro-development.

Maldives News

“There is an Islamic tilt to their policies, which is why President Muizzu’s first visit was to Turkey, and it is regrettable that his second visit was to China,” he continued. It reveals the preferences of the new regime.

Mulay brought out the fact that President Muizzu is a supporter of the late Abdullah Yameen, the well-known hardline opponent of India who presided over the Maldives from 2013 to 2018. Yameen embezzled USD 1 million in state funds in 2019, earning a five-year prison sentence and a USD five million fine.

As President of the Maldives, Yameen had laid the foundation for the Chinese debt trap in 2015 and led the `India Out’ campaign, currently being pursued by President Muizzu, who wants India’s 70 soldiers in the island nations out. These personnel operate India-sponsored radars and surveillance aircraft.

Indian involvement in the Maldives is long, extending from hospitals, education, credit facilities, defence agreements, and many other areas of bilateral cooperation, the former High Commissioner told this reporter.

In Mulay’s view, however, when things settle down, Maldivians would realise that it would be very difficult to navigate through their domestic issues; issues related to climate change and day-to-day requirements. Maldives is extremely dependent on India and New Delhi has been providing all this, by going out of its way for decades now, since about 1976.”

He said that sections of the Maldives population are already voicing their fears, knowing that India is the first responder during its time of crisis. “The tourism industry has voiced its fears, as have the others,” the former High Commissioner said.

Asked if China could grab the space if India vacated it in a country regarded as a long-term close ally, Mulay said: “I am sure things would improve, but I will give it another six months to see how things shape up.”

In November 1988, Indian troops famously intervened to thwart a coup attempt in the island nation. The attempt was carried out by a group of Maldivians and assisted by armed mercenaries of a Tamil secessionist organisation from Sri Lanka, the Peoples’ Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), to overthrow the government. In the counter-offensive called Operation Cactus, India had thwarted the move, earning it a lot of goodwill.

Congress claims that the Manipur government “declined” to allow Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Imphal!

The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ was scheduled to begin on January 14 from Hatta Kangjeibung in the Imphal East district in Manipur!

Congress claimed on Wednesday that the Manipur government has “declined” to give permission to Rahul Gandhi to commence his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ from Imphal East district. The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ was scheduled to begin on January 14 from Hatta Kangjeibung in the Imphal East district in Manipur. Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Keisham Megachandra said the decision was “unfortunate” and “violation of people’s rights”, according to PTI.

“We met Chief Minister N Biren Singh and sought permission for the venue of ‘Bharat Joro Nyay Yatra’ at Hatta Kangjeibung in Imphal East district from where the rally is scheduled to be flagged off. However, the chief minister has declined to permit the same,” Keisham Megachandra said.

A “critial” law and order situation has prevailed in Manipur ever since ethnic violence broke out in the state in May 2023. The second leg of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is set to begin on January.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh had said on Tuesday that the matter is under “active consideration” and a decision will be taken on it after receiving reports from security agencies. Addressing the reporters on the sidelines of an event, Biren Singh said the law and order situation in Manipur is “very critical”.

The Police Narrative on Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth’s Attempt to Mislead in Son’s Tragic Death!

Police interrogated the accused about her son, to which she said he was staying at a friend’s house in Goa.

After the shocking murder of a four-year-old boy in Goa allegedly by his mother, a start-up CEO from Bengaluru, police officials recounted the series of events that led to her arrest.

Nidhin Valsan, North Goa Superintendent of Police, on Tuesday told reporters that the accused woman requested for a taxi to travel to Bengaluru from her hotel in Goa after the alleged murder. She insisted on a taxi despite the hotel staff’s advise to travel by flight, as it is more cost effective, Valsan said.

“A woman asked the hotel staff to arrange a taxi for Bengaluru…After the checkout, when the hotel staff went to clean the room, they found red-coloured stains which they assumed to be blood. The staff immediately informed the police,” he told news agency ANI.

Perspective: A Depressing Impact On The Toolkit Nexus!

“Exploring the Gloomy Fallout: The Toolkit Nexus and Its Depressing Impact”

The Hindenburg and OCCRP reports against the Adani group were used as political ammo against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, regulatory bodies like SEBI, and one of the biggest economic conglomerates in India during the past year.

Since January 24 of last year, when Hindenburg published its report, the entire toolkit ecosystem—which includes so-called investigative institutions based abroad, NGOs, aligned media outlets domestic and overseas, Left-liberal groups of all hues, and sections of political parties in opposition, most notably the Congress—has been in hyperactive mode.

The opposition, led by the Congress party, compelled a washout of the parliamentary Budget session. There were fictitious allegations and claims made, along with unrealistic demands. Discussions over President Droupadi Murmu’s speech to the joint session of legislature. That was also the first time President Murmu addressed the legislature, and lawmakers are free to express any opinions they may have during these debates.

Because of this, the country witnessed a new form of rivalry among leaders, with the aim of seeing who could disparage or abuse business magnate Gautam Adani, his group, and his alleged closeness to Prime Minister Modi merely by virtue of their Gujarati origins. For those apprehended breaking the law, it served as a handy justification for their immoral, unethical, and unlawful acts of commission and omission.

After two previous failures, the Rafale and Pegasus debates, it was evident that they had not learned their lesson.

In addition to demolishing the Hindenburg and OCCRP reports and their backers like a renegade George Soros, the Supreme Court’s clean bill of rights to the Adani group, placing its faith in the market regulator and the Indian regulatory apparatus, has also dulled the leadership of Congress and the party’s supporters. The Supreme Court essentially indicted activist attorney Prashant Bhushan on multiple counts during the case’s most recent hearing.

Nonetheless, the ruling by the Supreme Court cheers not only the Adani Group but also millions of small investors nationwide, in addition to institutional investors, public sector banks, and other organizations.

The one definitive finding from the year-long, politically charged exercise in dust-raising is straightforward: Hindenburg, which initially leveled accusations in a lengthy study, made a significant profit by short selling both before and after the report’s publication, and it freely acknowledged this.

The incident reveals the relationship between India baiters and those who despise the Modi regime. Above all, it exposes a wide range of people, including Rahul Gandhi, Mahua Moitra, Jairam Ramesh, and many more. They are now without a problem following the Supreme Court’s decision.

The Congress will suffer the most from it, and the opposition I.N.D.I. will become even more divided.a collection. Openly disparaging Hindenburg, Sharad Pawar supported the Adani Group. Leaders of the Trinamool Congress and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Ashok Gehlot, the former chief minister of Rajasthan, Pinarayi Vijayan, the head of the CPM, and the Janata Dal (United) had also adopted a lenient stance towards Adani.

Inadvertently portraying himself as anti-industry and anti-entrepreneurship, Rahul Gandhi is well-known for telling party leaders and workers stories—his own versions of how McDonald’s and Coca-Cola rose to prominence. It’s definitely not a healthy image. for the opposing parties and the Congress.

If Rahul Gandhi and others want to continue making wild accusations, they would be better off reading the 46-page Supreme Court ruling before pursuing this further. Take note of what Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s bench stated in the ruling: Based on the evidence presented to this court, SEBI cannot be blamed for any apparent regulatory shortcomings.

The court must not supersede SEBI’s regulatory regulations with its own judgment. When evaluating a policy created by a specialized regulator, the court has the authority to investigate whether it infringes upon any statutory provisions, fundamental rights, or is obviously arbitrary. This case’s facts do not support a transfer.

of a SEBI investigation. This Court does have the authority to assign a case to a SIT or CBI in which the investigation being conducted by the authorized agency is deemed appropriate. Such authority is used in exceptional situations where the responsible authority exhibits a conspicuous, willful, and intentional lack of action in conducting the investigation. There is no evidence to support the existence of a threshold for the transfer of investigation.

The petitioner’s reliance on the OCCPR findings to imply that SEBI conducted the investigation in a careless manner is denied. A report from a third-party entity that makes no effort to confirm the veracity of its claims cannot be used as definitive evidence. Furthermore, it is incorrect for the petitioner to rely on the DRI letter because Concurrent rulings from the CESTAT, this Court, and the Additional Director General of DRI have already resolved the matter.

Aditya-L1 successfully reaches its final orbit on the solar mission; PM Modi calls it “yet another landmark.”

The Aditya-L1 spacecraft, India’s first solar mission, has successfully entered the final orbit, its desired destination from where it will make observations of the Sun for the next five years.

Aditya-L1 has successfully been inserted into the Larange Point 1, one of the five locations in the Earth-Sun system where the gravitational effects of the two roughly cancel each other out. It is a relatively stable point for a spacecraft to be parked, and make observations of the Sun.

Terming it as yet another landmark achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi , in a post on X, said, “India’s first solar observatory Aditya-L1 reaches it destination. It is a testament to the relentless dedication of our scientists in realising among the most complex and intricate space missions. I join the nation in applauding this extraordinary feat. We will continue to pursue new frontiers of science for the benefit of humanity.”

Getting into the orbit around L1 is not the same as attaining an orbit around any other planetary body, and is being considered the most important challenge in this mission. The spacecraft will spend the rest of its mission life “orbiting around L1 in an irregularly-shaped orbit in a plane roughly perpendicular to the line joining the Earth and the Sun,” an ISRO scientist said.

Lagrange Points are relatively stable positions but not entirely free from pulls and pressures. However, these are still preferred locations for space missions intending to observe and study the Sun.

Removing Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji from the State Cabinet is denied by the Supreme Court!

A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan remarked that a Governor needs the recommendation of the Chief Minister to dismiss a Minister!

On Friday, the Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji’s request to remove him from the State Cabinet was denied by the Supreme Court [ML Ravi vs Principal Secretary to Governor, Government of Tamil Nadu and ors].

Orally, a bench of Justices Abhay S. Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan stated that a Governor cannot fire a Minister on their own; instead, they must receive the Chief Minister’s proposal.

Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji

As a result, it declined to overturn the Madras High Court’s decision to deny the request to remove the minister representing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) from the cabinet.

“We have read the High Court’s contested decision and agree with the position adopted. Under Article 136, no involvement is required,” the bench declared, rejecting the plea.

In a case involving money laundering, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Balaji last year. Between 2011 and 2015, when he served as the Transport Minister in the AIADMK-led Tamil Nadu government, he was charged with involvement in a cash for employment fraud. Later on, in 2021, he joined the DMK and was made a minister.

Following Balaji’s appointment as a minister without portfolio in the State Cabinet, the Madras High Court noted in September 2023 that his continued service did not “augur well with the principles of Constitutional ethos on goodness, good governance and purity in administration.”

Thus, the High Court “advised” MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, to decide whether Balaji, having been arrested, should remain a State Minister or be placed under judicial detention.

The High Court further stated that if a minister is serving in an official capacity and has not been disqualified by the Constitution or any other law, it will be up for argument whether the Governor has the authority to unilaterally remove them from their position.

However, the High Court did not issue any orders for Balaji’s removal from his position as minister, which prompted the Supreme Court to hear the current appeal.

Balaji’s stay in the Cabinet despite his incarceration was contested in the plea that his attorney, ML Ravi, filed.
