India-UAE joint military exercise ‘Desert Cyclone’ underway in Rajasthan!

Rajasthan will host the joint military drill known as “Desert Cyclone 2024,” which will involve the UAE and India, from January 2 to January 15. According to ANI, the cooperative maneuvers within ‘Desert Cyclone 2024’ are designed to enhance interoperability by means of sharing best practices and information in urban operations.

The Indian Army shared “Exercise Desert Cyclone 2024” on its official X account. The first-ever Joint Military Exercise Desert Cyclone, involving the United Arab Emirates and India, is scheduled to take place in Rajasthan from January 02 to January 15, 2024. Through learning and exchanging best practices in urban operations, the exercise seeks to improve interoperability.

The robust friendship between India and the UAE is built on enduring cultural, religious, and economic interactions that span millennia.

The Ministry of External Affairs states that potential areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense include the development and production of defense equipment; joint military exercises, especially naval ones; information sharing regarding doctrines and strategies; and technical cooperation with regard to the Intermediate Jet Trainer, among other things.

The defense cooperation between the two countries has greatly improved recently, especially in the areas of defense training, defense inventory supply, and regular exchange program implementation. The first-ever India-UAE Joint Air Forces exercise, which took place in September 2008 at the Al-Dhafra base in Abu Dhabi, marked a significant turning point in this collaboration. India consistently takes part in the biennial International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) held in Abu Dhabi.
