After coming out in 2021, Josh Cavallo became the first openly homosexual male football player and encouraged others to do the same. Now, while playing for Adelaide United, Cavallo has proposed to his partner on the field.
On one knee in front of an empty Hindmarsh Stadium, Cavallo proposed to Leighton Morrell. He then shared pictures of the moment on social media. Initiating this year beside my fiancé. Mr. and Mr. will be arriving shortly. He thanked Adelaide United for their assistance in organizing this surprise.

Australian football player Cavallo is a midfielder and left back for Adelaide United in the A-League. He received Adelaide Unnited’s A-League Rising Star title for his 2020–21 season efforts. at addition to playing once for the U-20 squad, he represented the Australian U-19 squad at the 2019 AFC U-19 Championship.
Cavallo has acknowledged in interviews that he was gay from the age of sixteen, but he was too embarrassed and perplexed to discuss it. He further disclosed that his depression stemmed from having to conceal his sexual orientation. There were no openly homosexual football players in the top division until he came out in 2021.
