The CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kavya Maran, is well-known for cheering on her team throughout the games and rarely misses a game. When Pat Cummins’ team failed to get a crucial run out of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Maran swiftly reacted because she was giving the SRH vs. CSK IPL 2024 match her whole attention. Her on-camera displeasure caught people’s attention on social media.

Her emotional outburst in response to SRH’s botched run-out opportunity against Chennai Super King Gaikwad has drawn attention on social media.

On Sunday, CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL match in Chepauk by a score of 78 runs. After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins decided to bowl first against CSK.

After the win, CSK moved up in the points table, securing the third spot with 10 points. However, Maran’s team, SRH, succumbed to their second consecutive defeat and slipped to fourth after facing their fourth defeat in the tournament. 

Chasing 213 to win, Travis Head (13) and Abhishek Sharma (15) made quick starts, but Deshpande got rid of the former with a slower wide ball. He returned to remove impact sub-Anmolpreet Singh with an outswinger on the stumps as the batter went for a golden duck. 

For this game, SRH dropped Mayank Markande. The SRH cricketers who were part of the Playing XI were Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (w), Nitish Reddy, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, T Natarajan. Who is Kavya Maran?

Kavya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad, is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, a well-known businessman who is also the chairman and founder of the Sun Group. 

She holds a Commerce degree from Stella Maris College in Chennai and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Warwick Business School in the UK.

Her estimated net worth is around ₹409 crore, and her father is one of the most influential business stalwarts in Tamil Nadu. In 2019, he topped the Tamil Nadu IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List.
