Ronaldo breaks Saudi Pro League record for most goals scored in a season

Ronaldo broke Moroccan Abderrazak Hamdallah’s record of 34 goals scored in a single Saudi Pro League season.

He broke Moroccan Abderrazak Hamdallah’s record for most goals scored by a player (34), which he also achieved for Al Nassr in the 2018-19 season.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward smashed the record in his second season at the Saudi club, having joined from English behemoth Manchester United in January 2023.

While Al Hilal has won the SPL title with three games remaining, Ronaldo and his teammates will have one more chance to win silverware when they face Al Hilal in the King Cup of Champions final.

The victory meant that Al-Nassr finished second in the table for the second consecutive season, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal but 17 points ahead of third-placed Al-Ahli.

Ronaldo has 765 goals in his 22-year career with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

He also holds the record for international goals, with 128 in 206 appearances for Portugal.
