‘Arvind Kejriwal greedy’: BJP lambasts Delhi CM’s second order from jail

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday slammed Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for issuing his second order from the Enforcement Directorate’s custody, saying he doesn’t want to leave the post because of his insecurity.

Demanding his resignation as the chief minister on moral grounds, BJP leader Dr Harshvardhan said Kejriwal’s move to remain the chief minister of Delhi despite his arrest shows his greed.

“Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is in jail. Therefore, he should resign morally and give his responsibility to someone else. Arvind Kejriwal still holding his position shows that he is greedy and does not want to leave his chair because of his insecurity,” he said.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the chief minister can’t issue any directions from the jail.

“A chief minister cannot issue any direction from the jail. This is a drama. I have complained about this to the L-G, demanding strict action against them,” he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Harish Khurana said Kejriwal was trying to play the victim card.

“Kejriwal is in jail due to corruption for which former deputy CM Manish Sisodia has not got bail for the last 14 months. Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam. Arvind Kejriwal used to say that people facing corruption charges should resign, but now he is not resigning and is passing orders from behind bars,” he said.

Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested last week in connection with the liquor policy case, issued directions from ED custody to ensure that medicines and tests are available at all government hospitals and Mohalla Clinics, health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said today.

“Despite being in ED custody, Arvind Kejriwal is worried about the health of the people of Delhi. He is worried that because he is jailed, the people of Delhi should not suffer because of it,” Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

Arvind Kejriwal issued his first executive order from jail on Sunday.

PTI had reported that the Enforcement Directorate will look into the legality of such orders. It will ascertain if the orders are in line with the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court’s order.

Meanwhile, Delhi government’s Secretary of Planning, Niharika Rai, said the public services are not affected by Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.

“Public services, social welfare schemes and subsidies are not affected by the arrest of the CM. All public services social welfare schemes and subsidies currently given by Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi shall continue uninterrupted. People should not be misled by any fear-mongering and malicious disinformation in this regard,” she said in a press note.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a massive protest in Delhi demanding Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation.

State BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva said: “The CM of Delhi is corrupt and dishonest and he has looted the people of Delhi. We are going to the Secretariat to demand his resignation… The government is not running from the jail. Just like AAP’s character, the orders are also fake… Arvind Kejriwal has to resign.”

CM Arvind Kejriwal issues first order from jail; Sunita Kejriwal is the target of BJP’s increased attacks!

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been demanding that Kejriwal relinquish the chief ministerial post.

New Delhi: Following his apprehension in connection with the liquor policy scandal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued his first directive. He was arrested on Thursday night, making him the first chief minister in office currently serving. In the meantime, Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, has been the target of increased BJP attacks.

“From ED detention, he (Kejriwal) has given his first directive. The instructions are for the Water department of the city government. Later in the day, Atishi, the minister of water, will make the announcement, party officials told PTI.

Kejriwal’s resignation as chief minister has been demanded by the cc. The AAP has insisted that he will lead the government while incarcerated.

In a scathing critique of Kejriwal’s proposed jail plans, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari stated on Saturday that gangs, not governments, operate out of jails.

Tiwari persisted in criticizing Kejriwal on Sunday. In addition, he launched a fresh offensive against his spouse Sunita Kejriwal, who on Saturday had brought the chief minister’s message to Delhi.

The narrative ‘Ek safar swaraj se sharab tak’ comes to mind when you consider Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.Arvind Kejriwal stated, “My sole concern is how I’m going to move into a ‘Rajmahal’ as soon as possible.

He also attacked Sunita Kejriwal with a scathing remark.

Yesterday, Sunita Kejriwal conducted an interview while seated in the chief minister’s chair; she showed no signs of embarrassment. There is a national conversation about the excellent work being done by the ED and CBI. A small group of dishonest people also disparage him. This was not how ED and CBI operated before to 2014. Because the Congress government had to safeguard corruption nationwide prior to 2014, they did not grant the agencies that authority.

The party is called CM’s. The government was reorganized after 2014. A new record has been set by Narendra Modi. They’re given a free hand, be it any agency,” he continued.

The Enforcement Directorate is in charge of Arvind Kejriwal till March 28. He has filed a case against his arrest with the Delhi High Court.

The Delhi High Court has received an appeal from Arvind Kejriwal claiming that his arrest was illegal and illegitimate. He went so far as to claim that the fact that the ED had custody of him until March 28 is illegal and that he ought to be released right away. The Delhi High Court did not impose a stay on any order and declined to have an emergency hearing. Upon examination of all supporting documentation, the courts conclude that all events were fully compliant with the law. They attempted to take this case to the SC at midnight two days ago. Arvind Kejriwal also had to withdraw his SC case,” Sambit remarked.

AAP leaders have launched a massive protest in Delhi against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister’s jab at Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Nitish Kumar, “Born with golden spoon!

“Rahul Gandhi will never be able to understand the conditions of this place because he was born with a golden spoon in his mouth,” Bihar Deputy CM Sinha said!

After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mocked Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for rejoining the NDA on Tuesday, deputy CM Vijay Sinha came out in defence of the CM. Sinha said that Rahul Gandhi ‘was born with a golden spoon in his mouth’ and that ‘he would never understand the pain of the public.’ “Those who spend time on the ground understand the situation,” Sinha said.

Addressing reporters in Patna, Sinha said, “Rahul Gandhi will never be able to understand the social and geographical conditions of this place because he was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. Those who spend time on the ground understand the situation. Dynastic families with criminal and corrupt mindsets can never understand the pain of the public.”

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for “taking a U-turn each time little pressure is exerted” by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Addressing the public in Bihar’s Purnea Rahul said,” Right now Baghel ji (former Chhattisgarh CM) told me a joke. The joke goes like this…Your chief minister took oath at Governor’s house. Some of his ministers also took oath. Celebrations were going on. Nitish Kumar decided to go back to his home. Suddenly while going back he realised he has left his shawl at the Governor’s house. He went back and met the Governor. Governor was shocked and said you came back so quick this time.”

So this is the condition of Bihar a little pressure is exerted, and he (Nitish Kumar) makes a U-turn,” Gandhi said. Taking a dig at the Congress leader Bihar deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary said that it is “Rahul Gandhi who is solely responsible for the current condition of Lalu Prasad Yadav.”

On Sunday, Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the chief minister of Bihar for the ninth occasion at Raj Bhawan in Patna, marking another shift in alliances as he joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance once again. It was for the second time in two years that Nitish Kumar switched political affiliations, marking his fifth crossover in just over a decade.
