Will bail be granted to Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case? Hearing before the High Court of Delhi today!

At 2:30 pm, the Delhi High Court will decide on Arvind Kejriwal bail request. From the Tihar jail where he is currently incarcerated, Arvind Kejriwal continues to lead the Delhi government.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been in judicial jail for a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. He has challenged his arrest, and the Delhi High Court (HC). will rule on his appeal today. At 2:30 pm, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will make a ruling about Arvind Kejriwal’s appeal. From the Tihar jail where he is currently in jail, Arvind Kejriwal continues to lead the Delhi government.

Citing the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the law enforcement agency has opposed Arvind Kejriwal’s bail request, claiming that he is an “aam aadmi” and that the law applies to him equally. After serving six months in jail, AAP leader Sanjay Singh was recently granted bail; it remains to be seen if the Delhi High Court will accept Arvind Kejriwal’s request for bail.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Durgesh Pathak and incarcerated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant (PA), Bibhav Kumar, have been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation related to the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22 case. The claims of corruption led to the policy’s withdrawal.

K Kavitha, an MLC for Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), was detained by the ED last month on suspicion of plotting with senior AAP officials to obtain preferential treatment when the Delhi Excise policy was being developed and carried out. In addition, the agency claims that she gave ₹100 crore in return for the favors. Since March 15, Kavitha has been in judicial custody.

In connection with the excise policy scandal, the ED has detained 16 people thus far, including Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, and Arvind Kejriwal, as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near.

The high court denied a new request on Monday to remove Arvind Kejriwal from his position as chief minister, stating that the petitioner should have incurred “heavy costs” and that the case was filed primarily for “publicity.”

Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest and Pranab Mukherjee’s Daughter: “Karma Catches Up”

New Delhi: Sharmistha Mukherjee, the daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Anna Hazare group on Friday of making “irresponsible, baseless allegations against then Delhi Chief Minister and Congress leader Sheila Dikshit” in response to Kejriwal’s arrest in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.
She went on to say that in spite of their assertions that they have “trunk loads” of evidence against Dikshit, the public has never seen any of it.

‘Karma catches up!’ was how she concluded her message, implying that the people who made the irrational accusations are now paying a price for their misconduct.

He and the Anna Hazare group were in charge of fabricating the most irrational, ludicrous, and outrageous accusations against Congress, including the claim that he had ‘trunk loads’ of evidence against Sheila Dikshit ji. The ‘trunk’ has not yet been seen by anyone. “Karma comes full circle,” she wrote on X.

Prior to this, Sharmistha Mukherjee said that because of her recent criticism of the party and its leadership, she has been “viciously trolled allegedly by Congress supporters on social media”.

“Ever since my father’s book was published. I learned a lot from his journals and some of his insights about Rahul Gandhi. Pranab stated that Rahul is still developing as a politician and doesn’t appear to be missing very often. Congress has received a lot of acclaim, that “Congress social media had been viciously trolling me. Everything was ignored, and some of the Congress leaders had also been speaking against… Congress social media had been speaking against…”

Mukherjee has previously stated that she was concerned about the party due to the current situation in Congress.”I made a comment in an interview a few days ago on the fringes of the Jaipur Literature Festival, and I was questioned about my opinions regarding the Congress. I was quite explicit in saying that I am a member of Congress and that Congress continues to be very important to American politics. However, she continued, “the Congress ought to look past the Gandhi-Nehru family’s leadership.”

The Congress lost both of its previous Lok Sabha elections when Rahul Gandhi was the party’s face, according to Sharmistha Mukherjee. As a result, the party should choose who to present as its face.

Leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Minister Atishi urged the BJP to stop playing politics behind the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday, citing the arrests of two opposition chief ministers and the freezing of a Congress bank account.
