Delhi Cm Arvind Kejriwal Taken to Tihar Jail After Court Order

Kejriwal is set to be lodged in Tihar’s Jail Number 2. Delhi government’s former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia is lodged in Jail Number 1.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was placed under judicial custody by a Delhi court on Monday, April 15, in relation to a money laundering case involving an alcohol ban that has since been lifted. This occurs less than three weeks prior to the Lok Sabha elections starting.

Kejriwal was freed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and made an appearance before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja. Kejriwal’s arrest was ordered by a judge for a period of 15 days, but the police also hinted that they may require further time.

How does Kejriwal want to serve his prison term?
Like the other convicts, Kejriwal will rise at sunrise, which is currently around 6:30 am. Indian Express claims that the prisoners are given tea and pieces of bread for breakfast around 6:40 a.m.

Kejriwal’s lawyers asked on Monday to allow the chief minister to read two Hindu legendary texts, the Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita, as well as the book “How Prime Ministers Decide” by author Neerja Choudhary.

In Tihar Jail, where will Kejriwal remain?
Kejriwal is scheduled to be checked into Tihar’s Jail Number 2, according to ANI. Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, resides in Jail Number 1. Former city health minister Satyendar Jain is currently serving a sentence in Jail Number 7, while Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was just transferred to Jail Number 5. ANI has reported on this information.
