Nvidia Share Price: NVIDIA Announces Financial Results for First Quarter Fiscal 2025.

GAAP earnings per diluted share for the quarter were $5.98, up 629% from a year ago and up 21% from the prior quarter. $6.12 was the non-GAAP earnings per diluted share, up 19% from the prior quarter and 461% from the same period last year.

“Nvidia’s quarterly results on Wednesday could set the tone for U.S. stock markets and reverberate through companies exposed to the burgeoning artificial intelligence field. The semiconductor company at the center of the excitement over AI’s business potential is expected to report a massive jump in revenue and profit for its fiscal first quarter,” says Zacks Research Director, Sheraz Mian.

Strides Pharma Reports Total expenses in the fourth quarter were higher at Rs 984.21 crore as compared to Rs 972.26 crore.

Strides Pharma Science Ltd on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 10.44 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2024.

Financial Highlights

The company, which posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 13.79 crore in the same quarter a year ago, announced a top management rejig with Executive Chairperson & Managing Director Arun Kumar designated as Executive Chairperson while Executive Director Finance & Group CFO Badree Komandur has been elevated as MD and Group CEO.

Consolidated total income in the quarter under review stood at Rs 1,070.49 crore as against Rs 1,013.49 crore in the same period a year ago, Strides Pharma Science said in a regulatory filing.

Total expenses in the fourth quarter were higher at Rs 984.21 crore as compared to Rs 972.26 crore.

The board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the financial year ended March 31, 2024, the filing said.

For the year ended March 31, 2024, the consolidated net loss was at Rs 94.31 crore as against Rs 212.33 crore in the previous fiscal.

In FY24, consolidated total income was at Rs 4,090.82 crore over Rs 3,778.71 crore in FY23.

Strides Pharma said it recorded its highest-ever full-year revenue in FY24 driven by growth in the US and other regulated markets.

“The US remains a key market for Strides, having achieved the higher end of the FY24 revenue outlook of USD 250 million, we are well poised to achieve the USD 400 million objective over the next 3 years,” the company said in an investor presentation.

In other regulated markets, FY24 revenue was at USD 154 million, growing by 19.9 per cent year-on-year.

Strides said as part of the top management changes, Aditya Kumar currently Vice President of B2B Business will now be Executive Director – Business Development; Vikesh Kumar CFO – Front End Markets will become Group CFO & Chief Investor Relations Officer; and Surabhi Loshali, Senior Vice President HR has been elevated as Group CHRO.

“With today’s leadership announcement, we have introduced a well-structured succession and leadership development programme, guided by the board. I am confident that the strong internal talent we have developed over the years will ensure the company’s continued long-term growth,” Strides Pharma Founder, Executive Chairperson & Managing Director Arun Kumar said.

The AAP claimed that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were preparing an attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

A 32-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Delhi Police on suspicion of threatening Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with graffiti at a metro station.

The police said that on Monday, they found threats scribbled on the walls of Rajiv Chowk and Patel Nagar Metro stations, and an FIR was registered in the case. The accused, Ankit Goyal, has been arrested from Bareilly and is being interrogated.

Rajasthan: On social media, the police have vowed to solve the case and issued a warning against spreading unsubstantiated claims.

A deaf-mute 11-year-old girl from Karauli, Rajasthan, passed away ten days after she was discovered with severe burns in a field close to her home. At Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital, the tribal girl passed away. Despite the lack of arrests thus far, the family has called for prompt police intervention. They claimed that when they discovered the girl, she was naked.

On social media, the police have vowed to solve the case and issued a warning against spreading unsubstantiated rumours. According to authorities, a forensic investigation is underway and the truth will soon be known.

The girl’s mother heard her scream as she was playing outside her home, according to the FIR. She saw her daughter in a barn roughly 100 metres away as she was running out. According to the FIR, the girl was crying in agony, had burns, and was undressed. The child seemed to be indicating with gestures that two people lit her on fire and ran away. After being hurried to the closest government hospital, she was sent to Jaipur.

On May 14, a specialist was consulted in order to document the girl’s account. She identified one of the people in the pictures that were given to her.

Heart-rending visuals show the heavily-bandaged girl on the hospital bed, talking to her mother in sign language, days before her death.

Police have said samples of the girl’s skin and clothes have been sent to the forensic lab and the probe will proceed as per the advice of scientific experts. “Keeping in mind the sensitivity of this incident, it will not be correct to publicly say anything without evidence,” they said in a post on X.

On May 11, 2024, Light pillar an unearthly occurrence was observed above a town in the Tottori prefecture of Japan.

An amazing image of what looks to be nine light pillars emerging in the night sky over the seaside town of Daisen was shared by user Maashii on X (previously Twitter):

According to his X biography, Maashii works in Daisen as a “tourism producer”. He told Hint-pot, which reported on the story on May 14, that the lights could be seen in the direction of the Sea of Japan.

Maashii also told Hint-pot that he has only seen these lights three or four times since he moved to Daisen from Tokyo nine years ago. When he spotted them, he quickly pulled out his smartphone to snap a picture.

Another X user by the name of totoro8201 claims to have spotted the same lights from Nariishi beach, located on the same stretch of coastline just 12.7km east of Daisen, according to Google Maps.

The user posted this in a reply to Maashii’s tweet:

Netizens replying to the post pointed out that the scene resembled something out of the popular Japanese anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion”.

All the same, the lights have nothing to do with angels or extraterrestrials. Rather, they have to do with fish.

Fish-attracting light pillars

Maashii told Hint-pot that this phenomenon is known in Japan as “Isaribi Kochu”.

According to Japan Today, “Isaribi Kochu” literally means “fish-attracting light pillars”. The article was reporting on a similar “Light pillar of light” sighting back in 2015.

Japan Today explained that “Isaribi”, literally “fishing fires”, refers to the lights that are placed on fishing boats to attract larger catches. The practice is fairly common in squid fishing.

As temperatures cool overnight, crystals sometimes form in the air above the lit-up fishing boats. If the conditions are just right for the formation of large crystals without any precipitation, the beams can form as light from the boats reflects off the crystals.
