Forest fire in Nainital nears an IAF post; army and helicopters dispatched: 10 points

In response to the Nainital forest fire in the state’s Haldwani district, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that he will call a meeting.

The Indian Army and Air Force (IAF) have been contacted by the Nainital forest department to assist in putting out the forest fire, which has burned several hectares of woodland and been blazing for more than 36 hours. Helicopters are being used in the district administration’s firefighting efforts.

Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Saturday that he will conduct a meeting on the Nainital forest fire in the state’s Haldwani district.

  • Pushkar Singh Dhami said Nainital is facing a big fire. “The forest fires are a challenge for us. This is a big fire. We are working for all the essential needs. We have asked for help from the Army,” he said.
  • Pushkar Singh Dhami said the government has taken measures to control the fire. “I am going to conduct a meeting in Haldwani today. We have conducted a meeting in Dehradun also regarding this. We will try to control the fire as soon as possible,” he added.
  • The forest fire has put the High Court Colony in Nainital, in peril. Dhami has ordered the departments to douse the fire after coordinating among themselves.
  • The fire has spread near the colony, which is situated near the Pines area. It also affected traffic movement.
  • Meanwhile, Nainital Municipal Corporation Executive Officer Rahul Anand said: “We received information of IAF helicopters seeking permission to take water from Nainital to douse the fire. To make arrangements, we closed boating in the lake for the day. Fire is reported in Nainital in many places, including very close to the Air Force Station in the district. The main purpose of bringing in helicopters to douse the fire was to keep the Air Force Station safe”.
  • Anil Joshi, a resident of the area and assistant registrar of the High Court, told PTI: “The fire has engulfed an old and vacant house located near The Pines. It has not caused any damage to the High Court Colony but it has reached dangerously close to the buildings.”
  • The fire has reached dangerously close to the Indian Army’s installation near the Pines area.
  • The Nainital administration has barred people from boating activities in Naini Lake because of the forest fire.
  • Nainital’s forest department has pressed 40 personnel in the fire-fighting operations.
  • Yesterday, within 24 hours, 26 incidents of forest were reported in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Five incidents were reported in Garhwal. A total of 33.34 hectares of forest area was affected during the period.

IAF choppers shower flowers on Ram Temple after idol face revealed!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in pran pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir.

Indian Air Force (IAF) choppers on Monday showered flower petals over Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple premises in Ayodhya as the idol of Ram Lalla is unveiled in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The air in the premises was filled with chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ by invitees who were present for the ceremony.

PM Narendra Modi participated in pran pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya at around 12:20 pm.

In the the 84 second most sacred of the 48-minute ‘Abhijeet muhurat’ from 12:29:03pm to 12.30:35pm, he symbolically opened the eyes of the idol of Lord Ram Lalla.

With this, the week-long rituals of consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla which began on January 16 is completed.

At the Ram Mandir’s sanctum-sanctorum, PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP CM Yodi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel and Chairman of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust Mahant Nritya Gopal Das were present.

Head priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit presided over the rituals, who was assisted by around 121 other priests. Before worshipping, PM Modi also performed Vedic rituals for worshipping old idol of Ram Lalla that was shifted from the makeshift temple to the Ram Mandir on Sunday night.

The 51-inch idol, sculpted by Karnataka’s Arun Yogiraj portraying Ram Lalla as a five-year-old, was selected over two others since it captured innocence, divinity, and royalty at the finest.

The idol has been decked with jewellery — several jewellery pieces from head to feet. On its hands, there is a golden bow and arrow. The forehead is adorned with silver and red tilak.

Ram Lalla is clad in a yellow dhoti the colour of which blended with the yellow of flowers and the yellow of the dazzling jewellery. Intricate flower decoration stood out even amid the majestic jewellery with which the idol has been decked up.
