Rules are become merely formalities; CAA cannot be reclaimed: Amit Shah rips apart Oppn!

Only a few weeks before the general elections, the Union home ministry announced the implementation of CAA and on Tuesday established an online site.

Amit Shah

Amit Shah, the union home minister, declared that the government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would never back down from the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

In an interview with ANI, the top BJP leader declared, “This is our sovereign right to ensure Indian citizenship in our country; we will never compromise on it and CAA will never be taken back.”

The opposition parties criticized the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act, or CAA, when its rules were made public earlier this week.

The home minister responded that even the opposition is aware of its slim prospects of winning power when questioned about the remarks made by the INDIA bloc leaders regarding the repeal of the law if they were to win office.

“Even the INDI coalition is aware that it will not gain control. The BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, introduced CAA. It cannot be reversed.

it. In order to deny a platform to those who wish to repeal it, we will raise awareness of it throughout the entire country, Shah declared.

He laughed aside the opposition’s claims that the controversial law is enabling the Bharatiya Janata Party to acquire new supporters.

“The opposition is unemployed. They’ve been known to say one thing and do another in the past. But the BJP’s and Prime Minister Modi’s histories are distinct. What the BJP or Prime Minister Modi say is indelible. “All of Modi’s promises have come true,” stated Shah.

Shah cited the opposition’s comparable objections to important national security issues in response to the accusation that the BJP is exploiting CAA for political purposes.

They went so far as to claim that airstrikes and surgical attacks had political benefits. Thus, ought we to do something to combat terrorism?” Shah asked.

“All opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata, or Kejriwal, are indulging in politics of lies, so the question of timing does not arise,” the minister responded to questions on the timing of the CAA notification.

Shah reaffirmed that the BJP has made clear what it intended to do with the CAA well in advance. He drew attention to the fact that the party’s 2019 manifesto included a pledge to implementing the CAA and granting Indian citizenship to refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was approved by both chambers of Parliament in 2019 as part of the BJP’s well-defined goal. It was postponed. because of Covid. Long before the party won a mandate in the elections, the BJP had cleared its agenda.”

Biden, Trump clinch party nominations; stage set for presidential re-match

US President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump have clinched nominations from their respective parties, setting the stage for a presidential re-match in the November elections.

In Short

  • Joe Biden and Donald Trump secure presidential nominations in low-key primaries.
  • Voter dissatisfaction with both candidates evident in primary reactions.
  • Their re-match is the first featuring two US presidents since 1912.

US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump clinched their parties’ presidential nominations on Tuesday with decisive victories in a slate of low-profile primaries, setting up a general election rematch that many voters do not want.

The outcome of contests across Georgia, Mississippi and Washington state was never in doubt.

Neither Biden, a Democrat, nor Trump, a Republican, faced major opposition. But the magnitude of their wins gave each man the delegate majority he needed to claim his party’s nomination at the national conventions this summer.

Not even halfway through the presidential primary calendar, Tuesday marked a crystallising moment for a nation uneasy with its choices in 2024.

There is no longer any doubt that the fall election will feature a rematch between two flawed and unpopular presidents.

At 81, Biden is already the oldest president in US history, while the 77-year-old Trump is facing decades in prison as a defendant in four criminal cases.

Their re-match, the first featuring two US presidents since 1912, will almost certainly deepen the nation’s searing political and cultural divides over the eight-month grind that lies ahead.

In a statement, Biden celebrated the nomination while casting Trump as a serious threat to democracy.

Trump, Biden said, “is running a campaign of resentment, revenge, and retribution that threatens the very idea of America”.

He continued, “I am honoured that the broad coalition of voters representing the rich diversity of the Democratic Party across the country have put their faith in me once again to lead our party — and our country — in a moment when the threat Trump poses is greater than ever.”

On the eve of Tuesday’s primaries, Trump acknowledged that Biden would be the Democratic nominee, even as he seized on the President’s age.

“I assume he’s going to be the candidate,” Trump said of Biden on CNBC. “I’m his only opponent other than life, life itself.”

Both candidates dominated Tuesday’s primaries in swing-state Georgia, deep-red Mississippi and Democratic-leaning Washington. Voting was taking place later in Hawaii’s Republican caucus.

Despite their tough talk, the road ahead will not be easy for either presumptive nominee.

Trump is facing 91 felony counts in four criminal cases involving his handling of classified documents and his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, amongst other alleged crimes.

He’s also facing increasingly pointed questions about his policy plans and relationships with some of the world’s most dangerous dictators.

On March 8, Trump privately met Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has rolled back democracy in his country.

Biden, who would be 86 years old at the end of his next term, is working to assure a sceptical electorate that he’s still physically and mentally able to thrive in the world’s most important job. Voters in both parties are unhappy with his handling of immigration and inflation.

And he’s dealing with additional dissension within his party’s progressive base, furious that he hasn’t done more to stop Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.

Activists and religious leaders in Washington encouraged Democrats to vote “uncommitted” to signal their outrage.

In Seattle, 26-year-old voter Bella Rivera said they hoped their “uncommitted” vote would serve as a wakeup call for the Democratic Party.

“If you really want our votes, if you want to win this election, you’re going to have to show a little bit more support of Palestinian liberation — that’s something that’s very important to us,and cease funds to Israel,” said Rivera, a preschool teacher who uses they/them pronouns.

Almost 3,000 miles away in Georgia, retiree Donna Graham said she would have preferred another Republican nominee over Trump, but she said there’s no way she’d ever vote for Biden in the general election.

“He wasn’t my first choice, but he’s the next best thing,” Graham said of Trump. “It’s sad that it’s the same old matchup as four years ago.”

West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee to lead roadshow against CAA implementation in Siliguri today!

Mamata Banerjee, who has been vocal against its implementation, on Tuesday claimed that the rules notified were “unconstitutional and discriminatory”.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will on Wednesday lead a roadshow in Siliguri against the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019.

Banerjee, who has been vocal against its implementation, on Tuesday claimed that the rules notified were “unconstitutional and discriminatory”.

“TMC will hold a roadshow against CAA-NRC in Siliguri. Our chairperson Mamata Banerjee will lead the roadshow,” the party said in a statement.

Addressing an official programme at Habra in North 24 Parganas district, Banerjee maintained she would not allow the implementation of the CAA in West Bengal, and urged people to think “several times” before applying for citizenship under the law.

The Union government had on Monday implemented the CAA, notifying the rules to fast-track citizenship for undocumented non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India before December 31, 2014.

ISPL T10 Day 6 Review: Bangalore Strikers bag maiden victory, Srinagar Ke Veer move to third spot after second win!

Bangalore Strikers registered their first win in the first-ever Super Over of the competition.

Mumbai, March 11: On Monday at the Dadoji Kondadev stadium, the Bangalore Strikers defeated the Tigers of Kolkata in the first Super Over of the season, marking their first-ever victory in the Indian Street Premier League T10 tennis ball cricket tournament.

In the Super Over, Bangalore Strikes batted first and scored 21 runs, with Mansoor KL contributing 8 and Thomas Dias scoring 13 in 3 balls. Munna Shaikh responded with two sixes, giving it his all, but he was unable to get his team over the finish line as they were limited to 13/2.

With the win, Bangalore Strikers were also guaranteed a mathematical chance to advance to the next round, while Tigers of Kolkata held onto second place with four points.

One of the main goals of the innovative Tennis Cricket League, Indian Street Premier League – T10, is to find, develop, and improve cricket players starting at the grassroots level. It aims to bring together the best local cricket talent in India, giving participants a wide platform to display their abilities.

Earlier, Bangalore Strikers chose to bowl first, and opener Fardeen Kazi was dismissed by Akash Gautam in the first legitimate ball of the innings. After that, the captain of the Kolkata Tigers, Prathamesh Pawar, launched a counterattack, scoring 25 runs off of 20 balls. Gautam then returned to take two wickets and end with figures of 3 for 5.

Following that, the Kolkata Tigers lost wickets at regular intervals. Ashiq Shamsu took three wickets for 21 runs, which kept the batting side to 86 for 9 in the allotted ten overs.

However, the Kolkata Tigers had been playing strong defense throughout the campaign, which made things challenging for their rival. The penultimate over had just 18 runs remaining since, other from Thomas Dias (27 of 22 balls), none of the other Bangalore Strikes batsmen could break loose.

Mansoor KL, a left-hander, did a great job scoring 16 runs off of the first four balls, but they were caught trying to go for another huge shot. Ankur Singh, the captain of the Bangalore Strikers, then maintained composure to swipe a single and send the game to extra time.

Later in the day, Srinagar ke Veer needed something special in the 50-50 over bowled by Vishwajit Thakur, as they looked vulnerable at 43 for 3 at the conclusion of the sixth over. The match was decided beyond a shadow of a doubt when Bhushan Gole (14 of 7 runs) and Ahmed Askari (9 of 7 balls) combined for 24 runs in an over and a 12-run bonus.

Rajesh Sorte, who was named Man of the Match, took three wickets for thirteen runs as Srinagar ke Veer earlier dismissed the Hyderabad team for 81 runs.

IAF’s Tejas aircraft crashes near Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, pilot ejected safely!

Indian Air Force aircraft met with an accident in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer

IAF's Tejas aircraft crashes near Rajasthan's

An Indian Air Force aircraft met with an accident in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Tuesday. The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas of the Indian Air Force crashed near Jaisalmer during an operational training sortie. The pilot has ejected safely.

Reacting to the incident the Indian Air Force said in a statement, “One Tejas aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident at Jaisalmer, today during an operational training sortie. The pilot ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident.”

The recent crash marks the first incident involving the indigenous jet since its inaugural flight 23 years ago. The Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, a domestically produced supersonic aircraft utilized by the Indian military, is at the centre of this mishap. Initiated by the Government of India in 1984, the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program led to the establishment of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) to oversee its development. HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), India’s own aerospace company, spearheaded the design and development of the LCA Tejas. In 2003, the program was officially dubbed ‘Tejas,’ which translates to ‘radiance’ in Sanskrit, by then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is the second supersonic fighter jet developed by HAL (the first one being HAL HF-24 Marut).

Earlier last month, a Hawk trainer aircraft of the IAF met with an accident during a training sortie in West Bengal. The plane crashed in the civilian area near the Kalaikunda Air Force Station. However, there was no loss of life or damage to any civilian property. Both the pilots ejected safely.

Musheer Khan breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Ranji Trophy record in front of Master Blaster with century in final for Mumbai!

With Sachin Tendulkar in attendance, Musheer Khan broke the Master Blaster’s record and became the youngest Mumbai batter to score century in Ranji Trophy final

Musheer Khan on Tuesday became the youngest Mumbai batter to hit a century in the final of a Ranji Trophy as the 41-time champions strengthened their grip against Vidarbha in their pursuit of securing a record-extending 42nd title. Musheer, the younger brother of India Test cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, at the age of 19 years and 14 days, in the process, surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who previously held the record for 29 long years.

Musheer, who resumed on his overnight score of 51, completed his 2nd First-class century, to go with his maiden double hundred in the quarter-final against Baroda. When play resumed on Day 3, Musheer resumed the batting with captain Ajinkya Rahane as the two continued to pile runs. Already ahead with a lead of 119 runs at stumps on Day 2, from 141/2, Mumbai had progressed to 164 when they lost their captain for 73, but in the company of Shreyas Iyer, Musheer flourished.

With a clip off his pads, Musheer completed his century. He took off his helmet and went a step ahead of Tendulkar with the Master Blaster himself in attendance. Tendulkar, a two-time Ranji Trophy winner, was in attendance at the Wankhede, to see his team add another father in its cap. It was in the final of the 1994/95 season that Tendulkar, a month short of turning 22, had peeled off twin centuries against Punjab and became the youngest Mumbaikar to the landmark. His record stood tall for nearly three decades before Musheer bettered it.

Musheer and Iyer’s stand was worth 168 off 256 balls before the partnership was broken. Five short of 95, Iyer wanted to clear the boundary off Aditya Thakare but didn’t get the timing right and holed out at long-off.

Musheer’s red-hot form

Musheer’s dream run also saw him score a half-century in Mumbai’s semifinal against Tamil Nadu, scoring 55. Musheer has been in good form of late. He was the second highest scorer during last month’s Under-19 World Cup, with 360 runs at an average of 60, with two centuries and a fifty.

In fact, it’s been an eventful few months for the entire Khan family as big brother Sarfaraz made his debut for India in the third Test against England at Rajkot and went on to score three fifties in five innings.
