  • As per Hello! India, Sudha Reddy, wife of Krishna Reddy, is a director at MEIL and the mother of their two kids, Manas and Pranav.
  • She also serves as the head of the Sudha Reddy Foundation and is active in the company’s charitable interests.
  • She grew up in Vijayawada and married Krishna Reddy when she was 19, which she thinks helped because they grew up together

I can’t say if I ever felt this confident, excited, beautiful, and proud all together before. Memorable would be too small a word to express how I feel about my stance at fashion’s biggest night out! I’m always looking forward to putting India on the world map.” She further added, “For me, this was an opportunity to showcase not just myself but represent my country and my city. While the Met Gala is the greatest fashion night, for me, it was also an opportunity to propel the cause of benevolence, and align with individuals who see the merit and potential in the concept of giving back to society.”

Isha Ambani, daughter of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, repeated her diamond bracelet and choker at the Met Gala 2024. “By combining elements from Rahul’s previous collections, this look embraces sustainability,” the celebrity stylist and Mishra stated in a statement outlining Ambani’s appearance.

“Viren Bhagat designed the flower choker, parrot earrings, and traditional lotus hand bracelets (Haathpochas),” they stated.

The “clutch crafted by Swadesh using the ancient Indian art forms of Nakashi and miniature painting” was the perfect accessory to go with her attire.

Politics Today: Eleven States will be Vote on 93 seats in Phase 3.

Politics Today: Plus, PM in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra; Priyanka Gandhi in Amethi, Rae Bareli

We are almost three weeks into the seven-phase Lok Sabha election process this summer. On Tuesday, in the third phase, voters in 93 seats across 11 states and UTs will cast their votes. Following this, a total of 283 seats would have wrapped up polling, while five states — Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, and Gujarat — would have fully completed their voting procedures.

The 2019 results in these seats indicate that the BJP practically swept the regions that vote today.

The BJP alone had won 71 of these 93 seats, with the Congress far behind at 4.

There are a total of 1,332 candidates in the fray on Tuesday. The BJP has fielded the most candidates in this phase at 82, followed by the BSP at 79 and the Congress at 68. With 25 seats in Gujarat going to polls, the state has the most candidates contesting at 266, followed by Maharashtra (11 seats) at 258 and Karnataka (14 seats) at 227. Of the 241 candidates with criminal cases, Maharashtra has the most such candidates at 67, followed by Karnataka at 37 and Gujarat at 36. In Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Goa, a quarter of the candidates are facing criminal cases. Among the major parties, the Congress has the most candidates with criminal cases, at 26 or 38% of all its candidates in the third phase, followed by the BJP at 22 or 27%. There are also 103 Independents with criminal cases.

Politics Today One thing that will be tracked on Tuesday is the voting percentages. The Election Commission (EC) has recently acknowledged the dip in voting turnouts this time — under 4 percentage points for the first phase of elections and under 3 percentage points for the second phase compared to the 2019 elections — and expressed disappointment about the polling percentage in some metropolitan cities in the second phase, attributing it to “rigid levels of apathy” in urban seats.

In the first two phases, urban seats, which have traditionally registered low turnouts, did not move the needle even this time. The voting percentage decreased further. Among them was Ghaziabad, which experienced a decrease of 6 percentage points from 55.88% in 2019 to 49.88% this time. Gautam Buddh Nagar recorded 53.63%, down from 60.4% in 2019.

Additionally, Bangalore Central and Bangalore South, which also voted on April 26, saw turnouts of 54.06% and 53.17% respectively, compared to 54.31% and 53.69% in the last election.

PM Modi Schedule

After casting his vote in the Gandhinagar Politics Today Lok Sabha seat, the PM will travel to two states for campaigning.

First, he will be in Madhya Pradesh, addressing public rallies at Khargone (10:30 am) and Dhar (12:15). Of the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP won all but one in 2019. Chhindwara was the lone seat that the Congress managed to win.

It remains to be seen if the BJP will manage to retain the same tally this time.

Later in the day, the PM will be in Maharashtra for a rally in Politics Today Ahmadnagar (3:30 pm) and a roadshow in Beed (5:30).

The state, which sends the second highest number of parliamentarians — 48 — to the Lok Sabha after Uttar Pradesh sends 80 MPs, has turned into a major fighting ground for the BJP, which is eyeing 45 seats in the state and 370-plus seats across the country.

The PM and the BJP’s focus on Maharashtra is visible. The PM has already held a dozen rallies and has six more rallies lined up.

In 2014 and 2019 — when the BJP won 282 seats and 303 seats, respectively — Maharashtra contributed 41 seats each through its BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. This year, however, the political dynamics have changed and the BJP is banking heavily on its allies — Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

That Maharashtra is proving to be a difficult turf is evident with the party extending Modi’s rallies in constituencies, which were considered safe. In the previous elections, Modi held 142 rallies across the country, including nine in the state but had skipped Pune, Baramati, Nashik, Aurangabad, Sangli, Raigad, and Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg.

Congress Programs

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be heading to Jharkhand to address programs in the Singhbhum and Lohardhaga constituencies.

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be touring the crucial Rae Bareli and Amethi seats.

After weeks of suspense and uncertainty, the Congress announced its candidates for the traditional Gandhi family seats of Amethi and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh on May 3

Rahul switched to Rae Bareli, perhaps a safer seat than Amethi, from where he lost to Union minister Smriti Irani in 2019, while Priyanka was not fielded. Politics Today Amethi, the party fielded Kishori Lal Sharma, an influential representative of the Nehru-Gandhi family in the two seats for over two decades.

It will be after 25 years that no Gandhi Politics Today will be in the fray from Amethi. Sonia made her electoral debut from here back in 1999, a year after she took over as Congress president. In 2004, she shifted to Rae Bareli, making way for Rahul to make his electoral debut from the seat.

Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 LIVE: 10.57% Voter Turnout In 10 States, One UT Till 9 AM.

Who was Rabindranath Tagore?

The Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was born on May 7th, 1861, in Jorasanko Thakurbari, Kolkata. He was a renowned Bengali poet and writer. Tagore was the youngest member of his affluent family and he came from an affluent family. Tagore had a profound desire for exploration and he was often referred to as the Bard of Bengal or Gurudev.

Tagore’s contribution to the field of art and literature is unparalleled. He achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first non-European to receive the Nobel Prize for his poetry collection, “Geetanjali”.

Apart from being a poet and writer, he was an influential artist and musician. He composed over 2,230 songs and painted more than 3,000 paintings. He penned national anthems of India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. He founded Viswa Bharti University which is known as Shantiniketan.

Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti celebration

Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti is celebrated across the country but the grandeur of this can be seen in different parts of West Bengal. On this day, the cultural events showcase Tagore’s work in schools, universities, and local communities. The different events feature dances, dramas, songs, and recitals inspired by Rabindra Sangeet. Even foreign students at Visva-Bharati University join the celebrations. Apart from this, several other special events are being held at Jora Sanko Thakur Bari, Rabindranath’s birthplace.

Several school and college functions are also organized to honor Tagore’s contribution and children often recite his poems and songs and perform plays based on his literary works.

DC vs RR IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant and Samson in the Delhi Capitals’ matchup with the powerful Rajasthan Royals.

DC vs RR began the season on the wrong foot, losing four of its first five games. But the Rishabh Pant-led side soon clicked into gear, winning four of its next matches to put itself in contention for a playoff spot.

Delhi Capitals’ (DC) stop-start IPL 2024 campaign enters its final lap as it takes on the formidable Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Tuesday.

DC began the season on the wrong foot, losing four of its first five games. But the Rishabh Pant-led side soon clicked into gear, winning four of its next matches to put itself in contention for a playoff spot.

But a heavy defeat against Kolkata Knights Riders in its last game has put DC back on its haunches, with its top-four chances now hinging on other results.

For Royals, the plot has been far more buoyant. Sanju Samson’s men have been on a roll, sitting second in the table with eight wins out of ten matches. A win against DC will help it get back on top of the standings, displacing Kolkata Knight Riders.

The mood in the Royals camp continues to be upbeat despite a nerve-wracking last-ball defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game.

Royals’ success this season has been built around their well-rounded batting unit. They currently boast four players – Riyan Parag, Samson, Yashavi Jaiswal, and Jos Buttler – with a 300+ run tally this season – more than any other team in the league.

Besides these four, the Royals also have the West Indian lower-order big-hitting duo of Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell and the up-and-coming Dhruv Jurel.

DC vs RR IPL 2024

Royals’ batting brawn will fit well with the conditions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which has seen runs flow faster than any other venue in this IPL (11.85 runs per over – RPO).

DC too has some firepower in its rank, with the prominent ammunition being its young Aussie opener Jake Fraser-McGurk.

In the last two years, among batters to have scored at least 500 T20 runs, no one has a better strike rate than Fraser-McGurk (180.21). The 22-year-old has now set the IPL alight with his loose-limbed free-hitting, scoring 259 runs at a scarcely believable strike rate of 233.33.

On the bowling front too, the Royals have an advantage over the home side. While DC bowlers have leaked 10.24 RPO this season, Samson’s men have gone a shade under nine (8.99 RPO).

A major subplot to watch out for on Tuesday would be the matchup between Pant and Samson. While both keeper-batters cut India’s T20 World Cup squad, there is still no clarity regarding who will get the final nod in playing 11. A strong finish to the IPL season could just make the case for either of the two.

When these two sides met earlier in the season, in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals squeezed out a nervy 12-run win. A similar result on Tuesday could all but ring the death knell for DC’s IPL campaign.

Met Gala 2024 Celebrates ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ with elite attendees embracing delicate fashion pieces.

It’s that time of the year again when the world’s most elite gather to celebrate fashion’s most prestigious event – the Met Gala. This year’s Met Gala, themed ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, pays homage to centuries of style evolution while celebrating the delicate pieces often overlooked in the fast-paced world of fashion.

The beating of Manchester United by Crystal Palace is the fault of Erik ten Hag.

Here are the Indians who attended the Met Gala 2024

  • Alia Bhatt: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt made a stunning appearance on the green carpet, adding to the allure of the evening. She captivated everyone with her presence, wearing an exquisite floral Sabyasachi saree. This marks her second appearance at the prestigious event, following her memorable Met Gala debut last year in a striking ensemble by Prabal Gurung.
  • Isha Ambani: Isha Ambani caught everyone’s attention at the 2024 Met Gala. She chose to wear a couture sari gown by Indian designer Rahul Mishra, featuring a stunning long floral train. Anaita Shroff Adajania styled her for the event, and on Instagram, she shared images of Isha’s Met Gala look, which was inspired by this year’s “The Garden of Time” dress code. The intricate hand-embroidered look was crafted at Rahul Mishra’s workshops across various Indian villages, providing support to hundreds of local craftspeople and weavers. Isha elevated her gown with a “clutch crafted by Swadesh using the ancient Indian art forms of Nakashi and Miniature Painting.”

  • Mona Patel: Mona Patel stunned her look with a mechanical dress inspired by butterflies, styled by Law Roach. As Mona walked her dress fluttered from side to side, creating a mesmerizing effect that beautifully captured the theme of ‘Time and Nature.’ As per media reports, Patel is an Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist, originally from Vadodara, had relocated to the US at a young age to pursue her entrepreneurial ambitions.

  • Mindy Kaling: Comedian-actress Mindy Kaling showed up for the Met Gala carpet in a gorgeous champagne-colored architectural gown designed by none other than Gaurav Gupta. She is also a writer and producer. Kaling was born on 24 June 1979 and is the daughter of Indian immigrants. Speaking of Kaling’s outfit, Aishwarya also wore Gaurav’s custom-made queen pink sculpted creation on the third day of the Cannes Film Festival in 2022.

  • Natasha Poonawalla: Natasha Poonawalla’s outfit for the Met Gala 2024 was custom-made from Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Collection, designed by John Galliano. She wore a white strapless bodycon dress adorned with transparent black ripped chiffon, paired with a fluffy white cap.

The Met Gala 2024 showcased a stunning array of Indian talent, with luminaries like Alia Bhatt and Isha Ambani epitomizing grace, style, and cultural pride on the prestigious red carpet. Under the theme “The Garden of Time,” these individuals not only adhered to the dress code but also elevated it with their unique interpretations, blending tradition with modernity in mesmerizing fashion. Their presence not only underscored the global influence of Indian fashion and culture but also celebrated diversity and inclusivity on one of fashion’s grandest stages. As the curtains draw on this year’s Met Gala, the lasting impression of these Indian icons serves as a testament to their indelible mark on the world of fashion and beyond.
