Bomb scare in Delhi-NCR schools: Over 50 schools send children home; here’s all that we know.

On Wednesday morning, an email containing a bomb threat was sent to over 100 schools in Delhi and Noida. All of the students have been sent home and have been evacuated as a precaution. Delhi In a conversation with the Police Commissioner, LG VK Saxena requested a thorough report of the bomb threats made at Delhi-NCR schools. Officials from the Delhi Fire Service, Bomb Disposal Squad, and Delhi Police are at the schools, and a search is in progress. An email bomb threat was sent to several Delhi-NCR schools on Wednesday morning, sparking a search and rescue effort and creating a panic.

Search activities are in progress at the schools, and officers from the Delhi Fire Service, Bomb Detection Team, Bomb Disposal Squad, and Delhi Police are there.

Bomb scare in Delhi-NCR schools “We have learned that at approximately 4:15 in the morning, multiple schools received the identical email. DCP South West Rohit Meena stated, “We decided to close the schools and send the students back home. We took action.”

In the meantime, Delhi Police are searching school grounds and pupils have been evacuated, according to Minister of Education in Delhi Atishi. She continued by saying that nothing has been discovered in any of the schools thus far. She also advised parents to be calm. “School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed.”

Nevertheless, schools in Delhi-NCR have previously received emails containing threats. Several schools got similar threat emails in April of last year and February of this year, which turned out to be scams.

Threat mails to schools

Noida’s Delhi Public School, Delhi’s Mother Mary’s School, Sanskriti School, Delhi Public School at Dwarka, Delhi Public School at Vasant Kunj, and Amity School in Saket and Sector 30 are among the several schools that have received the bomb scare.

According to Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, Raghav Chadha may have “lost eyesight” about AAP MP.

Evacuation

The premises of all the schools that received threat emails were evacuated after the local police were informed. The police said a thorough check is underway, said the police.

Schools closed

Over 50 schools have sent children home. One of the parents of a student from DPS Dwarka said they got the message that the school would remain shut today.

“We got a message from the school that due to an unavoidable situation, the school will remain closed today. We were not aware of the situation, but later, we got to know that there was a bomb threat to the school,” ANI quoted a parent named Praveen as saying.

“We can’t take risk”

Kamini, the principal of Delhi Public School in Noida, told ANI that they informed the police after receiving the threat email. “We have students, so we can’t take the risk. The parents have been informed, and the students have been sent back to their homes.”

The same pattern of sending mail

The Delhi Police said threat emails had been sent to several places since Tuesday evening, and the pattern seems to be the same. “Dateline is not mentioned, and BCC is mentioned in the mail, which means one mail has been sent to many places. At present, an investigation is being done.”

Checking Underway, don’t panic

Rohit Meena, DCP South West, told ANI that checking is underway at all the schools, and the technical wing is investigating the email. “I want to request the students and parents to remain calm and not panic. We are getting every school checked and are in contact with the school administration.”

Nothing found in Mother Mary’s School

Delhi Fire Services Officer JB Singh says they received a call about a bomb from the school (Mother Mary’s School, Mayur Vihar). However, nothing was found after checking. “It was a hoax call. One fire tender, bomb disposal squad, and Delhi Police are present at the spot,” he added.

Farmers from hundreds of villages in Noida and Greater Noida have announced that they will march to Delhi in protest for their demands. The route from Golchakkar Chowk Sector-15 to Sector-06 Chowki Chowk and from Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk to Harola Chowk will be completely closed to traffic, per the traffic police advisory.  Due to the protest, Golchakkar Chowk, Sector-15, Rajnigandha Chowk, Sector-06 Chowki Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk, Sector-8/10/11/12 Chowk, and Harola Chowk will all have traffic rerouted as needed.
