Virat Kohli wins Heinrich Klaasen of SRH to become the greatest run scorer in the IPL 2024 Orange cap!

On March 29, Virat Kohli hit 83 runs against KKR at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, smashing his 52nd half-century in just 36 deliveries.

Royals Competitors Virat Kohli, the outstanding batsman and former captain of Bangalore, has earned the Orange cap for the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season after going 67 runs without losing against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

with M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on March 29, Kohli hammered his 52nd half-century in 36 deliveries. Against KKR, he scored an undefeated 83 runs with a strike rate of 140.67. He hit four huge sixes and four boundaries.

With that, he overtook Heinrich Klaasen, the hard-hitting wicketkeeper from Hyderabad, to take the lead in runs scored in the 2024 Indian Premier League. Kohli won the Orange Cap in 2016, and this season he plans to try to match that performance.

One of the other milestones that Kohli achieved tonight was surpassing the illustrious AB de Villiers to become Bengaluru’s all-time leading scorer of sixes (239).

He even became the batter with the most sixes hit in IPL tournament history when he hit his 240th size for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL, surpassing Chris Gayle.

The 35-year-cricketer has now 101 fifty-plus scores in the shortest format of the game and has become the first Indian and third batter across the world to reach this feat in T20 cricket. Chris Gayle leads the most 50-plus score (110), followed by David Warner (109).

RCB vs KKR IPL 2024:

Meanwhile, in the ongoing match between RCB and KKR at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB scored 182/6 runs in 20 overs. KKR needs to score 183 in 20 overs.
