The Prime Minister expressed his vision for a “wonderful picture of new Jammu and Kashmir” during an electoral rally in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

“Modi has long-term vision. So far, only the trailer has been released. I have to get to work painting a fresh and fantastic portrait of the modern-day Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections will take place in a short while. The statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be granted. Your ministers and MLA will be able to hear about your dreams,” the PM stated.

PM Modi stated that there will be no need to worry about terrorism, strikes, stone-throwing, or cross-border gunfire during the next Lok Sabha elections in Jammu & Kashmir.

“After decades, election-related concerns such as terrorism, separatism, stone-pelting, strikes, and cross-border terrorism are no longer present in this year’s election. The security situation for the pilgrimages to Vaishno Devi and Amarnath used to be a problem, but it has completely altered now. The people’s trust in the administration is growing as Jammu and Kashmir experiences development, he remarked.

The Prime Minister also attacked the Congress and the INDIA coalition, claiming that they merely like to play with the emotions of the country’s majority of people and have no regard for their feelings.

Addressing the Udhampur rally, PM Modi criticized those on bail for visiting convicted criminals’ homes, cooking mutton during Sawan, and sharing videos, comparing their actions to Mughal aggression towards temples.

“A person who has been sentenced by the court and who is on bail visits the house of such a criminal and enjoys cooking mutton in the month of Sawan and they make a video of it to tease the people of the country. The law does not stop anyone from eating anything but the intentions of these people are something else. When the Mughals attacked here, they were not satisfied until they demolished the temples. So just like Mughals, they want to tease the people of the country by showing the video in the month of Sawan…,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi denied that Ram Mandir was ever an electoral topic, refuting the Congress’ assertion that it is a BJP election issue. Even before the BJP was founded, there was a fight to build a Ram temple. The Indian people battled to defend their sacred sites after foreign invaders demolished our temples. He claimed, “The Congress leaders and its allies lived in large bungalows, but they used to turn their backs when it came to changing Ram Lalla’s tent.”

STRICT SECURITY IN PLACE

Meanwhile, stringent security arrangements have been put in place, and the Bakshi Stadium, the venue of the prime minister’s rally, has been draped in tricolour, news agency PTI reported.

With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner and opposition parties seeking an announcement on assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit has acquired a keen political dimension in terms of what he might have to say on the issue.

In Srinagar, several schools falling along the route to be taken by the Prime Minister were ordered closed for Wednesday and Thursday, while board examinations scheduled to be held on Thursday were postponed till next month.

Drones and CCTV cameras are being used for surveillance while foot patrolling by the security forces has been intensified in a two-kilometre radius around the venue.

Marine commandos have been deployed in the Jhelum River and Dal Lake to prevent the use of these water bodies for any subversive activities.

The BJP-led Centre abrogated the provisions of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, and bifurcated the erstwhile state into the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
