MUMBAI, March 10, 2024: The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) T10 saw Majhi Mumbai maintain their commanding lead after an exciting game at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane. When these top-ranked teams faced Suriya’s Chennai Singams, it resulted in a high-scoring match.

Majhi Mumbai raised the stakes by setting the highest goal in the competition—150 runs. Through tactical gameplay and expert execution, they were able to effectively defend their impressive score. Chennai tried their best, but they were only able to reach 128-9, which meant Majhi Mumbai won by an overwhelming 21 runs.

Abhishek Dalhor, who scored 43 runs in 24 balls and hit a flurry of huge sixes, stood out as Majhi Mumbai’s top scorer of the game. Additionally, he took three wickets in one over. He won the Man of the Match title for the second time in two days thanks to his outstanding bat and ball skills, which once again proved crucial in Majhi Mumbai’s victory.

In their third game at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Majhi Mumbai, the team co-owned by the renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan and Neeti Agrawal, Director PATH Ltd., overpowered the Falcon Risers Hyderabad, earning another victory in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) T10. The team proved their superior cricketing abilities and cohesiveness once more, winning handily and reaffirming their position as one of the top teams in the ISPL T10 league.

The inaugural edition of the six team Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) – India’s pioneering Tennis Ball T10 Cricket tournament being played inside a stadium for the first time, kicked off with a star-studded opening ceremony that witnessed a live musical performance and a scintillating drone show at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium here in Thane early this week.

In the first match of the tournament, Majhi Mumbai registered a convincing 37-runs win over Srinagar Ke Veers after setting a target of 141. Batting first after losing Tip Top, the local favourite ridinging on their skipper Yogesh Penkar’s brilliant half-century scored 140 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 10 overs. Penkar in his 26 balls 61 runs knock slammed five sixes. In response to the stiff target Srinagar Ke Veer were restricted by the managed to score only 103 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 10 overs.

Earlier the 10 day tourney got underway to an electrifying opening ceremony in the presence of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, actors Akshay Kumar, Saif and Kareena Kapoor-Khan, Suriya Sivalkumar and Ram Charan, who are also team owners, only added to the glamour of the league.

A special ‘Exhibition Match’ between Tendulkar-led Masters XI and Akshay Kumar-led Khiladi XI too was held before the start of the competition with the former emerging victorious. The match was followed by a live performance from ‘Gully Boy’ Siddhanth Chaturvedi X Dharavi Rockers Band and a drone show by Karishma Kotak.

Tendulkar joined the tennis ball T10 cricket league called the Indian Street Premier League as a core committee member

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar made a strategic investment into the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) on Saturday, January 13. He will be advising and shaping the format of this innovative new T10 cricket league as a core committee member.

Tendulkar in a press release said, “The ISPL is envisioned to be a celebration of cricket. My involvement in ISPL is reflective of my journey which takes me back to my roots. Before graduating to the season ball, I honed my skills in matches played with tennis balls and I am sure the ISPL will give many aspiring cricket enthusiasts a similar opportunity.”

“The exciting format of ISPL formalises a form of cricket which is much played across all age groups. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to the table and contributing to the evolution of this format and the league,” he added.

Scheduled to kick off from 6th March to 15th March 2024 in Mumbai, the inaugural edition of ISPL promises an exciting roster of matches, featuring six competitive teams – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir).

In the unique match held at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane following the inaugural ceremony of the Indian Super League, Faruqui, who was playing for team Khiladi XI, made a big impression by dismissing none other than Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar, who serves as an investor and Core Committee Member of ISPL 2024, opened the batting with J&K para cricket team captain Amir Hussain Lone.
