Ab Ki Baar, KKR, Kolkata Club Wins its Third IPL Title after Crushing Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In the most unbalanced final in IPL history, KKR outsmarts SRH to win their first title since 2014, and Gambhir becomes the first captain and mentor to win the trophy.

Venkatesh Iyer was on strike, and the Kolkata Knight Riders dugout was on its feet as they were only one run away from a resounding eight-wicket victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final. The left-hander paddle-swept for a single, setting up loud celebrations in the KKR camp.

IPL 2024 Final: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

The entire team came out to celebrate with the two Iyers, Venkatesh and Shreyas, and the owners were overjoyed in the stands as their wait for an IPL victory was finally over. The cameras kept hunting for mentor Gautam Gambhir, who was busy offering bear embraces to the entire group while smiling broadly. The DJ instantly turned to Chak De India, and the party began for the Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL 2024 champions.

The IPL final has frequently been a rematch of Qualifier 1, and the title match of the 2024 edition was no exception. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were the two most consistent teams during the regular rounds, but the Playoffs are a different beast.

Even the best in the business have found it difficult to dominate the knockouts, and SRH certainly faced KKR’s heat this year. Not once, but twice as after Qualifier 1 they were outsmarted by Shreyas Iyer & Co. in what turned out to be the most lopsided final in IPL history.

SRH just didn’t have enough runs on the board and became the first side to get bowled out in the final, that too without facing 20 overs. 113 – SRH’s third-lowest total in the IPL and the lowest total in an IPL final – was never going to pose any challenge to this KKR unit and mere formalities were left to be completed in the second innings of the match.

There was a consolation wicket of Sunil Narine early in the innings but just one-way traffic after that as Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz put on 91 runs in lightning-quick time to put the side on home stretch.

Bowling masterclass

The batting, however, was never going to be a point of discussion today as the night was set-up by the bowlers. KKR served a bowling masterclass in the title clash and Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player in the league’s history, led from the front with a probing spell which put SRH on the mat.

Even before he bowled his first delivery, the quick was in the opposition’s head as Travis Head decided not to take strike. Starc had dismissed him the last time two sides met in Qualifier 1 and it was young Abhishek Sharma in the firing line now.

From the first delivery, there was enough movement and the fifth ball which came out of the left-armer’s hand was a ripper! Pitched on length, it swung away late and crashed into the stumps.

Abhishek stood shocked and the SRH dugout wore a worried look as celebrations began in the KKR camp. In consecutive games now, KKR clipped the wings of high-flying SRH openers and never allowed their innings to get any momentum whatsoever.

Head stayed away from strike vs Starc but was dismissed for a golden duck by Vaibhav Arora from the other end. Rahul Tripathi came and went, and the batters to follow had no answers to the versatile seamers of KKR. If Starc was moving them at a brisk pace, Arora had a nice natural angle into the right-hander and Harshit Rana was mixing his pace smartly.

There was just on respite from both ends and even when seamers were given a break, Andre Russell and the spin-twins – Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine – sustained pressure in the middle overs.

Pat Cummins & Co. kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never had a partnership going their way. It was just the second time in the IPL that six different bowlers picked a wicket. That’s how good KKR were in the title clash.

The only thing which didn’t go KKR’s way was the toss as they outplayed the opposition in every department to register a very comprehensive win.

Complete list of IPL champions and runners-up: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), captained by Shreyas Iyer, defeated Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Sunday to win their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title. KKR had won the IPL crown in 2012 and 2014, and they dominated this season, finishing first in the league stage with nine wins from 14 games.

The Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the two teams that have won the IPL five times each. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, and Rajasthan Royals have all won once apiece.

“It was comprehensive,” said Kolkata skipper Shreyas Iyer, who also appeared in an IPL final for the Delhi Capitals in 2020, but lost to the Mumbai Indians.

“This is what we wanted of the players, and they stepped up. There is so much to be grateful for right now that it is difficult to put into words. There was no single person who led us here; it was a team effort, and it was a perfect season for us.”

Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat. But the Sunrisers were deflated inside the first seven overs as they limped to 47-4 against an impeccable attack of Starc, Harshit Rana (2-24) and Vaibhav Arora (1-24). Russell mopped up the lower order with 3-19 and Hyderabad was in danger of not reaching 100 before Cummins hit 24 off 19 balls and was the last man dismissed in the penultimate over.

“Russell has got a magic wand and he is looking towards me to bowl,” Shreyas Iyer said. “In the majority of the games he gave us breakthroughs.”

Following SRH’s 10-wicket Thumping, LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka Publicly vents his rage at KL Rahul; the Images are Shocking.

After the match, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen having an animated chat with skipper KL Rahul on the ground.

Lucknow Super Giants suffered a crushing defeat against Pat Cummins and Co. on Wednesday, which put them in a tricky spot in the playoffs race. It was a dismal performance from LSG bowlers Sanjiv Goenka and their top-order in batting as Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed them at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first, but the decision backfired for them as they lost Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis early in the powerplay, which put pressure on Rahul, and he went into his shell once again. The LSG captain failed to rise under the pressure and scored 29 runs off 33 balls. He looked sluggish throughout the innings as LSG scored just one boundary in the powerplay and hit 27 runs. Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni (55*) and Nicholas Pooran (48*) helped them post a fighting total of 165/4 on the scoreboard.

However, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma made a mockery of it and chased it down in just 9.4 overs. Head smashed 89*, and fellow left-hander Abhishek, who hit 75*, tore into the opposition attack to romp home with 10.2 overs to spare at their home in Uppal.

After the match, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka was seen having an animated chat with skipper Rahul on the ground. It didn’t look a pleasant sight as Goenka looked miffed with the team’s performances, and many suggested he should have waited to get to the dressing room or a meeting room to have that conversation instead of doing it in a public place.

    ‘Lost for words’

Head and Abhishek showed no mercy and smashed the LSG Sanjiv Goenka bowlers all around the park to chase down the 166-run target in just 9.4 overs to script several records as LSG players had an embarrassing night.

“I’m lost for words. We’ve watched that batting on TV but that was unreal,” Lucknow skipper KL Rahul said of the bludgeoning by the Hyderabad openers.

“Everything was hitting the middle of the bat, kudos to their skill, they’ve worked very hard on their six-hitting.”

However, it will be crucial for LSG to get over the humiliating defeat quickly as they are still in the playoffs race and have to win their remaining two matches to make a case for themselves.

On Sunday, CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL match in Chepauk by a score of 78 runs. After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins decided to bowl first against CSK.

After the win, CSK moved up in the points table, securing the third spot with 10 points. However, Maran’s team, SRH, succumbed to their second consecutive defeat and slipped to fourth after facing their fourth defeat in the tournament.

Chasing 213 to win, Travis Head (13) and Abhishek Sharma (15) made quick starts, but Deshpande got rid of the former with a slower wide ball. He returned to remove impact sub-Anmolpreet Singh with an outswinger on the stumps as the batter went for a golden duck.

For this game, SRH dropped Mayank Markande. The SRH cricketers who were part of the Playing XI were Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (w), Nitish Reddy, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, T Natarajan. Sakshi MS Dhoni-starring post during CSK vs SRH: ‘Baby is on the way. Please finish the game…’

Following the CSK vs. SRH game, Sakshi Dhoni’s “baby is on the way” post went viral right away.

Sakshi, the wife of former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni, was there at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday to see CSK vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024. After suffering back-to-back defeats to the Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai recovered magnificently to defeat the Sunrisers by a commanding 78 runs, with the visitors being held to just 134 runs in 18.5 overs.

Contestants of Splitsvilla 15 Discuss Their Ex-Partners’ Accusations, Arguments, Reunion, and More!

Sakshi begged Chennai Super Kings to finish the game fast because she was about to become an aunt in an Instagram story she shared during the game. Following the game, the post quickly became viral on social media.

The story comprised of a short clip of Dhoni wicketkeeping as Sakshi’s post read: “Please finish the game fast today @chennaiipl baby is on the way…contractions have begun. Request from – to be ‘Bua’!”

Sakshi’s plea seemed to have been granted by the CSK team, as they secured an impressive victory at home thanks to a masterful bowling performance led by pacer Tushar Deshpande.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain, struck an aggressive 98 off 54 earlier in the game to help CSK reach 212 for three, but he was denied a second consecutive century. He was well assisted by Daryl Mitchell, who bounced back with a vital 32-ball 52 before Shivam Dube’s 20-ball 39-n-out moved CSK over the 200 mark. Not to be overlooked, the crowd favorite Dhoni scored five runs off of two balls, including a boundary off the first ball. SRH’s overly conservative batting strategy backfired once more as they were all out for 134 in 18.5 overs after Deshpande’s three-wicket burst with the new ball and the middle overs squeeze in response to the par total. CSK vs SRH ended their two-game losing streak with the victory. Along with the five-time title winners, the Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants all now have 10 points, putting them in third place in the standings. Following their fourth defeat, SRH, who have 10 points as well, dropped to fourth place.

“Retire ASAP” is how the audience responds after Ajinkya Rahane of CSK fails to score runs with the bat in another IPL 2024 match against SRH.

Twitter was flooded with reactions after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for just nine runs off 12 balls in the 2024 IPL game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, April 28. Opening the innings for the hosts, the 35-year-old once again failed to provide a solid start.

Ajinkya Rahane has been poor with the bat so far this season, managing just 170 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 123.19. He has been criticized widely for his form and batting approach from fans and pundits alike. IPL 2024 RCB vs. SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins stayed upbeat following his team’s 35-run defeat to the Royal Challenge Bangalore. He urged the group to concentrate on their strengths.

After Sunrisers Hyderabad’s April 25 loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 35 runs, captain Pat Cummins sent out encouraging words for his team.

“It was not the best night. We were a little off with the ball and, regrettably, lost a couple of wickets during our innings. I believe our attacking style of cricket is our strongest suit. It won’t function in every game. Even though things didn’t go our way in the first one or two games, we were still able to secure a respectable total. “I still believe that this is the right path for our boys,” Cummins stated following the match.

“The boys have been going really well,” he continued. Since this is T20 cricket, you cannot expect to win every match. Avoid thinking about this too much.

    RCB vs SRH IPL 2024

RCB’s Rajat Patidar scored 50 runs off 20 balls with five sixes in his second straight half-century, while Kohli scored 51 off 43 balls. The RCB set SRH a target of 206. However, the heavy-hitting Hyderabad batting scored 171-8 (20 overs) against one of the weakest bowling attacks in the tournament. Australian Travis Head fell for just one run, Abhishek Sharma did get a start, scoring 31 off 13 balls, however, he too was caught behind in the fourth over. The SRH’s top order Aiden Markram was out for seven, while hard-hitting Heinrich Klaasen also fell for the same total. Both were out to part-time left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh, who finished with figures of 2-40 in three overs.

After this game, Bengaluru drops to 10th place in the points table with four points, while Hyderabad moves up to third place, level on 10 points with both the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Lucknow Super Giants.

Watch: Kavya Maran’s Reaction During SRH’s Loss vs RCB Sparks Meme Fest

The angry reaction of Kavya Maran during Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 has gone viral.

In the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a comfortable margin of 35 runs on Thursday, snapping their six-game losing record. Karn Sharma, Cameron Green, and Swapnil Singh took two wickets apiece to restrict SRH to 171/8 after half-centuries from Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli helped RCB reach a respectable 206/7. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and other explosive batsmen in the SRH top order had an incredible season, but the hosts lost to RCB due to a major collapse. The speed at which wickets fell during the SRH innings surprised Kavya Maran, owner of the team, and her outraged response went viral on social media, prompting people to make hilarious memes.

We have shown outstanding fighting in the last two games. KKR game as well: 1 run; SRH game was 270 plus; we got 260. We’ve been close for a long time, but collective confidence comes from winning games. I’ll have a better night’s sleep tonight. You are unable to project confidence onto others through speech or imitation.”

“Performance is the only thing that inspires confidence. You’ll get hurt if you’re not at your best because the teams and competition are so powerful. Guys are now scoring runs in greater numbers. Just Virat was scoring runs in the first half of the competition. For Greeny, it will be huge to score runs at this point. We are aware of that, Chinnaswamy, and it has greatly irritated us. It’s a challenging field to bowl on. At the post-match presentation, RCB captain Faf Du Plessis remarked, “We’ve tried to find a recipe for it, but it’s tough.”

“It was not the best night. We were a little off with the ball and, regrettably, lost a couple of wickets during our innings. We decided to bat first, and it seemed to be effective for us.”
