Who is Nikesh Arora? 

Nikesh Arora completed his primary education at the Air Force Public School in Delhi before going on to earn a Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT-BHU. Even before his stint at Palo Alto Network, Arora had made a name for himself in the tech world through his work with major companies such as Google and Softbank.

Notably, Arora became the highest paid executive at Google in 2012 when the company hired him with a $51 million package. By the end of his time with the Silicon Valley-based company, Nikesh Arora had collected stock awards worth at least $200 million.

The update brings GPT-4 to everyone, including OpenAI’s free users, technology chief Mira Murati said in a livestreamed event. She added that the new model, GPT-4o, is “much faster,” with improved capabilities in text, video and audio. OpenAI said it eventually plans to allow users to video chat with ChatGPT.

“This is the first time that we are really making a huge step forward when it comes to the ease of use,” Murati said.

OpenAI team members demonstrated the new model’s audio capabilities, for example, asking it to help calm someone down ahead of a public speech. Chen demonstrated the model’s ability to tell a bedtime story and asked it to change the tone of its voice to be more dramatic or robotic. He even asked it to sing the story.

Users of ChatGPT Plus will have five times more message capacity than free users, and clients of ChatGPT Team and Enterprise will have even greater usage limits.

Murati concluded the livestreamed event by thanking Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and his company for providing the necessary graphics processing units (GPUs) to power OpenAI’s technology.
