AP Inter Results 2024 Live: The results of the AP Inter first and second year will be announced at 11 a.m. on April 12th, according to confirmation from the Board of Intermediate Examination (BIE) Andhra Pradesh. Following the announcement, students can check their scores at exam results.ap.nic.in, bie.ap.gov.in, results. apcfss.in, results.gov.in, and resultsbie.ap.gov.in. The AP Inter examinations were held in March this time around. The dates of the IPE first-year and second-year exams were March 1–19 and March 2–20, respectively.

Approximately ten lakh pupils took the test and are awaiting their results.

Speaking before Justice Marie-Josee Hogue’s Public Inquiry into Foreign Intervention in Federal Election Processes and Democratic Institutions, Justin Trudeau provided testimony on Wednesday.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has questioned the assertion by the country’s spy agency that China “clandestinely and deceptively” conducted foreign interference in the 2019 and 2021 Federal elections in Canada.

Trudeau appeared on Wednesday before the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions, which is headed by Justice Marie-Josee Hogue.

Trudeau said, “What I am saying, you have to take this intelligence, you have to take this information, with a certain awareness that it still needs to be confirmed or it might not be 100-per-cent accurate.”

Those allegations were contained in a briefing note from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service or CSIS, provided to the Prime Minister’s Office in February 2023. That document, titled Briefing to the Prime Minister’s Office on Foreign Interference Threats to Canada’s Democratic Institutions, said, “We know that the PRC clandestinely and deceptively interfered both in the 2019 and 2021 general elections.” PRC refers to the People’s Republic of China.

The target was the principal opposition Conservative Party and its then leader Erin O’Toole, who adopted a platform that was sharply critical of Beijing. “In 2021, the PRC FI was almost certainly motivated by a perception that the Conservative Party of Canada was promoted on a platform that was perceived to be anti-PRC,” the CSIS note stated.

Earlier, O’Toole had testified before the Inquiry they won fewer seats than what was expected, down from the 127 modelled to the outcome of 199 in the 2021 Federal elections. Though, he said, that would not change the ultimate result of the election, with the ruling Liberal Party returning to power and Trudeau heading another minority Government, he estimated that “suppression” could have led to a loss of between five and nine seats. “I think a lot of people didn’t vote because they were intimidated,” he had said.

But, I will say that the principle that anyone who comes to Canada from anywhere in the world has all the rights of a Canadian to be free from extortion, coercion, and interference from a country that they left behind and how we have stood up for Canadians, including in the very serious case that I brought forward to Parliament of the killing of (Hardeep Singh) Nijjar, demonstrates our government’s commitment to defending the rights and freedoms of Canadians.”
  • “And the suggestion that we haven’t and we won’t do everything we can to defend Canadian rules and values and defend Canadians from foreign interference is simply misplaced,” Justine Trudeau is heard in a video of the inquiry proceedings shared by Canadian newspaper The Global and Mail.
  • “Our government has always stood up to defend minorities in Canada and the rights of minorities to speak out even if it irritates their home countries overseas,” the Canadian prime minister said.
  • Asked whether appropriate steps were not taken to expose foreign interference, Justin Trudeau replied, “I think that’s certainly a question one needs to ask of the previous conservative government that was known for its very cozy relationship with the current Indian government. Whereas our government has always stood up to defend minorities in Canada and the rights of minorities to speak out, even if it irritates their home countries overseas,” according to the video shared by The Global and Mail.

Days after Justin Trudeau’s allegations, India announced temporarily suspending the issuance of visas to Canadian citizens and asked Ottawa to downsize its diplomatic presence in the country.

India has rejected Justin Trudeau’s allegations as “absurd” and “motivated” and accused Canada of giving space to Khalistani extremists targeting India.

India had designated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020.

A court in Vietnam sentenced real estate tycoon Truong My Lan to death over her role in a 304 trillion dong ($12.46 billion) financial fraud case, the country’s biggest on record, Lan, the chairwoman of real estate developer Van Thinh Phat Holdings Group, was found guilty of embezzlement, bribery and violations of banking rules at the end of a trial in Vietnam’s business hub Ho Chi Minh City, state media reports said.

The trial, which began on March 5 and ended earlier than planned, came as part of a campaign against graft that the leader of the ruling Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong, has pledged for years to stamp out, although with few tangible results.

The crackdown, dubbed “blazing furnace”, has seen hundreds of senior state officials and high-profile business executives prosecuted or forced to step down.

At one point in 2022, Vietnamese stocks suffered a $40 billion wipeout following a series of big corporate arrests, rattling investor confidence at a delicate moment for the fast-growing economy.

Lan’s lawyers were not immediately available for comment.

Lan and her accomplices were accused of siphoning off more than 304 trillion dongs from Saigon Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SCB), which she effectively controlled through dozens of proxies, according to investigators.

Delhi excise policy case | CBI detains Kavitha, a BRS lawmaker!

On March 15, Kavitha was arrested in Hyderabad by the Enforcement Division on charges of money laundering, and she was placed under judicial custody at Tihar Jail.

K. Kavitha, a legislator for Bharat Rashtra Samithi, was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on April 11 about the Delhi excise policy issue.

After being detained in Hyderabad on March 15 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on suspicion of money laundering, Ms. Kavitha was placed under judicial custody and sent to Tihar Jail. A special court gave the CBI permission to arrest her on April 10.

It has been alleged that Ms. Kavitha was part of a “South Group’ which paid ₹100 crore in advance as “kickbacks” through the then Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) communication and media in-charge Vijay Nair, who represented some AAP leaders.

According to the probe agencies, she and other members of the group had conspired with the top AAP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, to get favors in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy.

The CBI registered the case on August 17, 2022, against Mr. Sisodia and 14 others on a reference from the Union Home Ministry. It was alleged that the excise policy was tweaked to extend undue favors to license holders; the license fee was waived or reduced; and the L-1 (wholesaler) license was extended without the competent authority’s clearance.

The policy extended an extraordinarily high-profit margin of 12% for wholesalers and almost 185% profit margin for retailers.

Instead of the alleged ₹100-crore “kickbacks”, the “South Group” partners were given 65% stakes in Indo Spirits company for the recovery of payments. These stakes were controlled through “false representation, concealment of true ownership and proxies”, as alleged.

“If terrorists from the neighboring country try to disturb the peace in Bharat or try to carry out terror activities in Bharat, we will give them a befitting reply.

PM Modi on road, and rail connectivity in Uttarakhand

Lauding his government for better infrastructure in Uttarakhand, Modi said, “We are continuously increasing rail, road and air connectivity in the state. Work is underway on the Rishikesh -Karanprayag railway line. Distance between Delhi and Dehradun is also reducing. Border villages, which were called ‘last villages’ under the Congress, are now being developed under the BJP government. Air services have started for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. A 900-km-long highway is also being built to connect Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath.”

Addressing the crowd, the PM shared, “Yesterday I was in Tamil Nadu, situated on the ocean coast, at the southern end of India. There also people are saying –Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar! Today I am in the lap of the Himalayas, in the company of Baba Kedar and Badri Vishal. So here also the same echo – Phir Ek Baar, Modi Sarkar!

On the occasion, Modi also presented a glimpse of the milestones achieved by the BJP government over the past years that including the elimination of terrorists in their hideouts, the abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir after seven decades, and the enactment of laws against triple talaq, addressing long-standing social issues.

“Additionally, the BJP government ensured women’s representation by granting them reservation in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly, fostering inclusivity and gender equality in governance,” Modi said.

The PM also elaborated on the One Rank One Pension scheme and said, “It is Modi who has given more than ₹1 lakh crore to ex-servicemen by implementing OROP. Here in Uttarakhand too, military families have received more than ₹3.5 thousand crores.”

Jackson Holliday received a particularly significant number with the Baltimore Orioles following his quick ascent to the major levels.

Baseball’s top-ranked prospect made his big league debut Wednesday night at Fenway Park, starting at second base and batting ninth against the Boston Red Sox.

Boston (AP) — Jackson Holliday was assigned a particularly significant number with the Baltimore Orioles following his quick ascent to the major leagues.

Wednesday night at Fenway Park, the top-ranked prospect in baseball made his big league debut against the Boston Red Sox, starting at second base and hitting ninth. In Baltimore’s 7-5 victory, he went down swinging his first at-bat and ended up 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and an RBI groundout.

Although Holliday acknowledged that he would have preferred to have received a few hits, he thought the entire experience was amazing. “Just to be here is pretty fantastic, to go out there and win and have an RBI.”

The 20-year-old infielder is the son of Matt Holliday, the 2007 NL batting champion and seven-time All-Star. He was taken first overall in the 2022 amateur draft out of Oklahoma high school.

“Arrogant? By which I mean, somewhat. Before the game, Jackson Holliday said, “Not too bad.” “I’m not as anxious as I had anticipated. I’m more ecstatic. The mindset shifted from being anxious to being excited.

During spring training, I had a tiny taste. Though obviously, this will change as the season progresses, I thought I could hold my own.

For Baltimore, Holliday wore number 7. During seven seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and one with the Colorado Rockies, his father wore that number. However, since 1992, when former manager Cal Ripken Sr. was still coaching, it had not been worn by an Oriole.

The last Baltimore player to wear that number was Billy Ripken, one of his kids, back in 1988. The young Holliday received the blessing of Orioles aristocracy, the Ripken family.

Holliday, who turned 20 on Dec. 4, became the second-youngest player in the majors behind Milwaukee outfielder Jackson Chourio, who turned 20 on March 11.

“I’m sure to be 20 years old and go through the kind of pressure, the buildup and all the stuff he had to go through today, I bet he’s probably glad it’s over and relieved and looking forward to playing tomorrow,” Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde said.

A left-handed hitter, Holliday was drafted as a shortstop less than two years ago out of Stillwater High School and advanced through four minor league levels in 2023. He had a tremendous spring training with Baltimore this year, batting .311 with a .354 on-base percentage and .600 slugging percentage in 15 games.

But general manager Mike Elias wanted Holliday to get more playing time at second base and more experience against left-handed pitching. Just before the end of camp, Holliday was sent down. In 10 Triple-A games this season, he hit .333 with a .482 on-base percentage and .595 slugging percentage.

That time in Triple-A paid off, Holliday said.

“Yeah, I think getting at-bats. I got a lot of at-bats because we scored a lot of runs,” he said. “I was able to get pretty comfortable. My swing’s in a good spot, put together a lot of good at-bats versus lefties, which we knew was kind of more of the purpose of being down there. And, it doesn’t hurt to play.”

Primarily a shortstop, Holliday made 33 minor league starts at second base, including eight this season. Gunnar Henderson, the reigning AL Rookie of the Year, plays shortstop for the Orioles, so Holliday will get most of his time at second.

“There’s a lot to process and there’s a lot of hype,” Hyde said before the game. “Hopefully, he can just relax, think confidently and have fun out there.”

Holliday started a 4-6-3 double play to end the second inning.

“We’re all smiles today,” said teammate Jordan Westburg, who hit a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning as the Orioles overcame a 5-0 deficit. “We’re just trying to keep him level, but he’s so mature he handled it really well.”

Baltimore selected Holliday’s contract from Triple-A Norfolk. To make room on the roster, utilityman Tony Kemp was designated for assignment.

Told of his promotion after his Triple-A game Tuesday night, Holliday phoned home with the news.

“It was a really cool moment to be able to call my dad and tell him to find his way to Boston,” he said.

Matt Holliday batted .299 with 316 home runs and 1,220 RBIs during 15 major league seasons with the Rockies, Athletics, Cardinals and Yankees from 2004-18.

Along with his father, and grandfather Tom Holliday, a longtime college coach, Jackson Holliday was expecting his wife, Chloe, his mother, brothers and sister at Fenway Park for his debut.

“It’s different. It’s a lot. I feel like I’ve been born to handle that, and to be here and play baseball for a long time,” Jackson Holliday said before the game.

The youngster hadn’t had time to go through all the texts he’d received wishing him good luck. But there was one from a Maryland native that stood out.

On social media right now, a video honoring Jamie Siminoff’s incredible journey is becoming widely shared. The inventor of Ring, the first Wi-Fi video doorbell in history, Siminoff, debuted on “Shark Tank” in 2013 with his invention. All but one Shark turned down his offer, and he left the show empty-handed, only to reappear years later as a multi-millionaire investor.

Since it was posted on X five days ago, a film chronicling the American businessman’s transformation from Shark Tank pitcher to Shark has received an incredible 14.6 million views.

Jamie Siminoff presented his video doorbell solution on the business reality show “Shark Tank” in September 2013. He sought to fund $700,000 for DoorBot, the name of his company at the time.

Siminoff was already bringing in $1 million a year in sales when he made his appearance on the show, according to Yahoo News. Except for Kevin O’Leary, all the panelists rejected his pitch, which he was hoping would win over one of the Sharks to invest in DoorBot.

Siminoff was offered a $700,000 loan by O’Leary, popularly known as “Mr Wonderful,” in exchange for a 10% fee on each sale made until the debt was repaid. He also requested 5% of the company’s ownership and a 7% royalty on all future sales. Siminoff turned down the offer and left the program without a settlement since he did not agree with the parameters of the arrangement.

Ring was purchased by Amazon for $1 billion in 2018, making it the company’s second-largest acquisition at the time, after Whole Foods. When Siminoff received an invitation to join “Shark Tank” as a guest judge for the 2018 season, he had the last laugh.

“I said yes right away,” he said. “If not for that exposure, Ring would not have survived or been where we are today.”

The students at this school had to get ready early in the morning and ride the bus to school, even on vacations. This school’s forty students had boarded a bus and gone. Six of the 40 children’s parents were unaware that their kids would never come home from school. There will just be their corpses to return. This accident reportedly occurred when the driver was getting out of a car. The bus traveled at a rather high speed. Screams could be heard as the bus unexpectedly overturned as the pass was being taken from the automobile. Children covered in blood could be heard sobbing all around. A throng of people came there upon hearing youngsters weep. The youngsters hurt in the collision were picked up right away, and they were driven to the hospital in the discovered car.

Every youngster on the bus was brought to the hospital to receive medical attention. Six of the children hurt in the collision were pronounced deceased by doctors. The family began sobbing deeply as soon as they learned of the children’s passing. Some even passed out as a result. The children’s families are now holding the driver and the school accountable for this collision. They claim that their children would not have died if the school had not been in session on this particular holiday.

The people who were at the scene of the accident claim that the bus driver’s intoxication was the cause of the collision. Numerous kids have sustained severe injuries. On this Eid, all government offices and schools are closed. The private school continued to not proclaim vacations even after that. In his opinion, the bus driver and the school ought to be charged with murder.
