Rahul Dravid, the current coach of the Indian cricket team and a former captain of India, went to the polls in Bengaluru on Friday to cast his ballot. Like any other ordinary individual, Rahul Dravid waited in line to cast his ballot. Rahul Dravid told the media that everyone should vote after casting their ballot. This is a chance that only democracy offers. Anil Kumble, a legendary Indian spinner and former teammate of Dravid, also cast a ballot in Bengaluru. The second round of the Lok Sabha elections is taking place on Friday, with voting on 14 seats in Karnataka.
There will be two voting stages for Karnataka, which has 28 seats in the 543-member Parliament. Fourteen seats—Udupi Chikmagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru South, Chikballapur, and Kolar—are up for vote today.
Karnataka’s 2019 elections saw the BJP win 25 of the state’s 28 seats. This time, the BJP is running for 25 seats, and JDS, an ally, is running for the final 3 seats. The second phase includes the three constituencies that JDS is contesting: Hassan, Mandya, and Kolar.
This time Lok Sabha elections are being held in 7 phases. The first phase of voting was held on April 19 in 102 constituencies across 21 states and union territories. According to the Election Commission, the voting percentage was recorded at more than 62 percent. The third phase of elections will be held on May 7.
