WWE Backlash 2024 France Live Updates: WWE first-ever PLE following the greatest WrestleMania ever from Lyon, France, delivered high on Saturday night. The night started when an all-out brawl broke up between Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and the Bloodline, forcing the SmackDown General Manager to make the match a streetfight. Kevin Owens was all set to pick up the win before Tama Tonga’s brother and the newest Bloodline member, Tanga Loa, debuts to help the Bloodline pick up the win. In the second match, Bayley faced some trouble against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton but still managed to retain her WWE Undisputed Women’s Championship in the end.
In the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, despite his best efforts and crowd support, Jey Uso once again came up short as the champion Damien Priest, with the help of interference from Judgement Day, picked up the win. However, tension was high between the Judgement Day members after the match. In the night’s first and only title change, Bianca Blair and Jade Cargill def the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) after a hard-fought match.
The night ended with Cody Rhodes’ WWE Undisputed Championship title on the line against the challenger AJ Styles. AJ Styles took the champion to his limits, but Cody somehow managed to come out on top to earn a monumental victory and retain his WWE Undisputed Championship in his first-ever title defence.
